Is there any ladies on here that suffered with arthritis before pregnancy but it has worsened while pregnant?

I have arthritis in my knees and since the early hours of this morning my pain in one knee has returned and I haven't suffered with any arthritis pain for literally months and months!

Now I haven't taken a pg test yet, period due next week. I do however remember that my rheumatologist told me that if I do become pregnant my arthritis can go one of two ways either not bother me, no pain ect or it can flare up and flare worse! 😫

Anyone any experience of arthritis when pregnant please let me know!

I don't know if this is my body telling me something.

Hey!

I'm currently 34 weeks pregnant and also have Rheumatoid Arthritis - have been on Sulfasalazine for it for years and it wasn't the best controlled before I got pregnant and was severely limited mobility wise etc.

I've been one of the lucky ones that once I got pregnant my RA got a lot better and was able to do things I hadn't been able to do for a very long time. I did find though that I got bad SPD in second trimester onwards but did get help from both an osteopath and physio which has made a difference. A lot of people with RA get SPD so it mignt not be related but thought I'd mention it.

I've stayed on sulfasalazine throughout the pregnancy though I didn't need it so it's there to help with a post partum flare the consultant thinks I'll have to deal with :)

Hope that helps x
