Hi there,

My other half has asked me what he can get me as a treat and I?m stumped for ideas. I?m a first time Mum and I?m 7 months pregnant. What did your partners buy you, gift wise, when you were pregnant/gave birth? Did you get any ?interesting? presents? What were your favourites? Did you get anything at all?
What would your ideal pregnancy/new baby gift pack be?! There?s only so many soaps a girl can take!

Oh yeah?. What should I get him? What do new Daddy?s like?!?! I?m so new to this, can you tell?!

Thanks,
Sal x

PS: Thought I should also say hi! This is my first post. Only just found this site!

I didn't get anything, not even a card.

I didnt get anything either but would have loved any of the following

Diamond jewellery - who wouldnt?!

Cashmere dressing gown (see The White Company) and/or silk pyjamas (Shanghai Tang for the best!)- you will love wearing these as they feel so gorgeous and you can kid yourself you have an air of glamour about you when caught still in them at midday (this happened to me a lot)!

A cleaner - preferably one who will hand wash your silk pyjamas

A day/weekend at a spa, although you probably wont feel like using it for some months after, it will be very very welcome when you get there!

I dont get the ipod idea, since DS was born 2 years ago the only time I get to put headphones on is when I am in the gym, any other opportunity is also an opportunity to sleep so that wins hands down every time!!

Agree with Twinkly that in an ideal world, spontaneous would have been better.

But it's like my engagement ring - he was too nervous to spend that much money on something that wasn't entirely to my taste and that I didn't absolutely adore, so pragmatism overruled romance.

I think it worked out better this way - I know quite a few people who secretly hate their engagement rings. I have even heard of one who "accidentally" dropped hers overboard on a boat and claimed on the insurance to get the one that she wanted, which I found .
