Negative test 4 days after missed period

Hi all!

We have been trying for our first baby and I’m 4 days late on my period, i have been getting cramps on and off and also feeling nauseous on and off too since I was due on, but still no period 4 days later.

I know these are symptoms of your period too but as I was late too i bought the clear blue early detection pregnancy test thinking.. maybe this is it! but it’s still negative.

I’m just wondering if I should test in a few days too or is that a definite no?

Has anyone has had a negative test at this point with the early detection ones and then went on to be pregnant?

Thank you for any replies ☺️

Could be a random late ovulation. I've had this if I've stressed myself in some way around the time of ovulation. I'd probably just keep testing until AF turns up.

Have you been on contraception recently? Been unwell? Had the vaccine recently? How do you know you ovulated @Katie2021 ?

Katie2021 · 27/10/2021 16:24

Thanks for replying, Yes to be honest that sounds about right, last month my period was 4 days early.

But again I put that down to wedding stress at the time because it got cancelled due to Covid travel restrictions then all got rebooked the same week haha, so maybe I’m still not back on track from that.

Hope it gets back on track soon because my ovulation estimation on the app has probably been wrong if they’re early/late xx

Thanks for replying, i haven’t been on contraception for the past year and a half, I haven’t been poorly, and I have had the vaccine about July (which did make me miss a period but since been back on track)

In terms on ovulation, I don’t know if I have or not tbh I just track it with my periods on the app xx

Just to update the thread, I got a positive test yesterday morning on an early detection clear blue digital test!

However it was my last test so I went to buy more to make sure and tested in the evening (this wasn’t an early test I picked up the didgital weeks one instead) and this came back negative.

So I had a positive in the morning from the early direction digital test and a negative digital weeks test in the evening. I’m now 7 days late on my period so I’m going to test again in the morning. Trying to be positive but im feeling very uncertain right now xx

Hi I'm in a similar situation period is 3 days late now multiple negative tests. I've never been late before so really confused. Been having twinges, cramps, achy ovaries boobs are slightly tender but other than that nothing. Not really sure what to do.
Also I was doing obviously tests so think I know when I ovulated.

Yellowdiamond10 · 02/11/2021 20:25

How are you getting on? My best friend is a midwife and I kept getting negative tests and she told me to test first thing in the morning with my first urine and I got two positives. X

Amyhal13 · 02/11/2021 20:55

@Yellowdiamond10 how late was your period when you tested in the morning? It's just so strange for me to be late. I feel quiet achy but not same as period pains. Other than that I don't feel pregnant really. My cervix is still really high though I've been checking everyday. I did have some sickness through the night but this was the day before my period was due. I also struggled to sleep but I don't feel sick really anymore. I'll do another test first thing tomorrow morning. I've been doing them throughout the day and all negative

Yellowdiamond10 · 02/11/2021 21:27

I got a positive 2 days before my period being due. I used one of the clear blue digital early test and then also used Superdrug's own brand early test and got another positive! Fingers crossed for you, hope you get the result you want x

How did it go ?
Katie2021 · 03/11/2021 10:23

So I had 3 positives in total then started getting negatives, 💔 I was trying to keep my mind positive and didn’t test all weekend as I had no blood still at 8 days after my period was due, but I started cramping (stronger than my period pains usually are) and Then the bleeding started the next day so I’ve been bleeding for a couple of days now and completely negative tests showing now 💔 praying for you girls though! Cramping on its own seems to be okay just not when accompanied by quite heavy bleeding. So I think I’ve had a chemical miscarriage but from what I’m reading, I’ve been so heartbroken over it but people seem to say your very fertile after a chemical pregnancy and more likely to catch so I’m trying to keep positive, going to invest in ovulation sticks this time to pinpoint an accurate ovulation! And try again, it wasn’t meant to be this time but hopefully next time ❤️ Xxx

@Katie2021 so sorry to hear that! Look after yourself and try to stay positive as hard as that might be! X

@Amyhal13 looks positive to me, I would leave it another 48 hours and do another should be a lot more prominent then! X
