Bringing baby home

Hi all

Just packing my bag for hospital - baby due beginning of December.

I know it is advised that a baby doesn't wear a big coat/pramsuit in a car seat so I've got one of those car seat blankets that fits into the straps and you can wrap around baby once strapped in. My question is will this be warm enough to travel home in? Baby will have a vest and sleep suit underneath but I was wondering whether a light coat/cardigan will be needed as well? I've got this jacket already but again, I'm not sure if it would be classed as too bulky to be safe under car seat straps?

Any help appreciated! Smile

I would put a Cardigan and hat on him as well as the vest and sleepsuit.
Then with the blanket, he should be snug as a bug.
Hope it all goes well for you!

Yes I wouldn't put that on baby in the car seat - too bulky. Its likely the midwives would say that too. Light layers vest/sleepsuit with a hat and booties is fine and then a couple of blankets on top of the straps.

My twins came home in January - long sleeve vest, sleepsuit with the fold over mittens, hat and blanket. Think the littlest one (under 4lb) also had a woollen cardigan. Then both had wooden blankets tucking them in
