Mega different second pregnancy! Anyone else!?

Hey everyone, so I'm only 5+6 but oh my goodness this pregnancy is SO much worse than my last one! Last time I had some slight nausea on a morning with a wave in the afternoon, and the fatigue hit around 4pm. This time I'm nauseous all the time and nothing helps (have been like that since 3.5weeks!) and the fatigue is ALL day. It feels like a struggle to get out of bed!

I'm curious about other people's experiences of second pregnancies that were worse? Did it turn out to be a different gender? I'm scared it's twins or something! Xx

@QueenLagertha I was thinking that if you really are 15 weeks you could find out the gender very soon as you can find out privately from 16 weeks! We have DD who is almost 3 and I have two DSC who are 7 and 9 so this is DEFFO our last!!!! My instinct is telling me it's a girl and that'd be lovely however a boy would be fab as thats 'different' so may be more exciting in a way but i know it doesn't matter really! Xxx

@newtolineofduty ah yeah but I honestly don't mind waiting to 20 week scan. Do you think you'll find out this time? We didn't find out last time and it was such a lovely surprise so I'm still in two minds about finding out. But def leaning more towards finding out so I can get DSs stuff all washed and ready etc if needed

@QueenLagertha I'd actually LOVE a surprise this time (couldn't wait last time!) however I'm too practical! Need to know whether to sell DDs clothes etc or keep and wash like you say! We're also really struggling with names already lol so don't want to put loads of effort into finding a name that we won't even need hehehe! Have you had any cravings? I'm all about the salt like last time! Crisps, sausage rolls, pot noodles etc! Basically anything terrible with no nutrients in! X

Hey @newtolineofduty just realised I didn't reply last time. Cravings for chocolate and sweet things this week. I've put on about 8 pound already 😳 how are you feeling now??
I had another scan today and they've moved my date forward EDD 24th April. Making me 16+3 today. So not long now until big scan. How many weeks are you now?

@QueenLagertha I'm 8+2 now! Got my 12 week scan through today and I'll be 12+1 which is fab! I'd gone off chocolate but was back on it last night! I've been ok at making RELATIVELY healthy chooses but I feel still put on about 6lbs already because I've been eating loads more to help the sickness and done NO exercise as ANY motion makes me feel sick and even more exhausted! Hoping to get more active in the second trimester but currently just focusing on surviving each day!

How did your scan dating compare to what you thought you were in relation to your period?! Xx

@newtolineofduty all I've been doing is walking. Might try to get back to doing some workouts. I just be so tired in the evenings, by the time DS is sorted and in bed I can't wait to go to bed myself. That's great your 12 week scan isn't
too far away now. It feels like such a long wait though doesn't it?!

I'm having lots of movement since about 12 weeks this time. The Doc said today it was difficult to get measurements as baby was so active.

6 days ahead. I'm really only 15+3. I know it's less than a weeks difference but it feels like a lot 😂 I did tell them we were trying so I'm quite sure of my dates but they'll go by measurements anyway

Agh that's ok. Baby will prove you right @QueenLagertha when it arrives 6 days late! 😂

I have a private scan booked this weekend as I can't wait lol x

DS arrived at 37+2 so going 6 days over will feel like an extra pregnancy 😂

@newtolineofduty I'm going at 33 weeks this time. Saving my annual leave to do so. I'll prob go over when I'm all set for an earlier delivery 😂 nhs so I'll be non patient facing and possibly WFH from 28 weeks.

I went at 33 weeks last time @QueenLagertha! I'm nhs too! What do you do!? Xx

OT/Mental Health Practitioner for community mental health team. What do you do @newtolineofduty? I was surprised to hear I wouldn't be allowed to see patients after 28weeks I thought that would've changed by now!

@QueenLagertha I'm a psychologist in a medical hospital! I'll see patients remotely from 28 weeks I think. I think my manager would be supportive of me doing it a bit more now but I don't like wfh! X

Me too. At the minute I still do a couple of days at home. But I enjoy my days in the office and seeing colleagues. I hate seeing patients over zoom. It's just not the same!
When I was pregnant with DS I was in a different role that I found a lot more stressful. No idea why I worked up until birth. People tried to tell me to go off a bit earlier but I was having none of it convinced first baby would be overdue.
I'm determined to be a bit more organised this time, do some batch cooking to fill the freezer etc I'm starting to remember the newborn days. Think ive had a selective memory about them 😂
