Pregnancy after mmc.. help and advice?

Hey everyone
I could really do with some advice or help as I'm googling everything and I just want some honest information!

I've had 2 mmc within the last 6months.

I'm currently 3weeks after my mc but still having very faint positive tests. Angry
Is this normal can it really take this long to come down to a negative test? It's so frustrating as I just want to move on.

We are looking to try again and I've heard about asprin and progesterone. I've gone private and consultant has said i would be given progesteone pessories.

Has anyone been in my shoes and does anyone have any info or success stories on the above?

So hopefull that I will have my time, but it's so hard to keep my postive outlook...😥 xxx

Yes, mine took 7 weeks to go back to 0 HCG. I had blood work to confirm.

It's a long road.. I had a MMC in December and a chemical the following august. Then I seem to have caught this September so being cautiously optimistic. I took folic acid and aspirin.

Sorry I also started taking 200mg progesterone suppositories on 3DPO for the cycle that appears to have hopefully stuck!

@Rtmhwales thank you so much for getting back to me.
7 weeks?!? I bet you were pulling your hair out. Its heartbreaking isnt it as all we want to see those 2lines for so long, I feel guilty now wishing they would go. I know the physical aspect of it all is awful but the mental side of things is just as bad isnt it.

Aww wow.... well I have everything crossed for you!!❤ how have you found the suppositories I've heard mixed reviews with side effects and the mess they can make?
With the asprin did you self medicate or were you told to? I've been told my folic acid needs to be 5mg and threads on here and online state 75mg or 150mg... I'm thinking if I'm higher dose folic acid then should I take higher dose asprin also..?

I'm hoping AF comes soon even if my tests are really light positives. I've read once your hcg is low enough your ovulation and periods kick back in even if you do have small amount of hcg in your body - how true this is I dont know? Xxx

All I can do is tell you my experiences, I don't know what's "normal".

My first ever pregnancy was a mmc. I found out at my 12 hour scan. I had medical management that went wrong and an emergency d&c. Pregnancy test at 2 weeks post - negative.

I then got pregnant 3 months later with my son.

When we tried again it took a while, but my next pregnancy was also a mmc (discovered at 8 week scan) "natural" management. 2 weeks later negative test.

3 months later pregnant again with my current pregnancy

@Kdubs1981
Thank you for sharing!xx

My 1st mmc I was 6 weeks measuring 4 and had medical management. After 2 weeks negative test. This time I was 10weeks and took a further 2 weeks to naturally pass everything. That was 3 and a half weeks ago. I've been monitoring the hcg via easy@home tests as I find them the most sensitive and the lines definently gotten lighter over the last week, but it's still there even if it is very faint.xx

Hopefully I wont have to wait too much longer to get back to ttc....its just nice to know it's not just you/me going through this.😥

I've had a Mc, chemical and then a mmc. Was given progesterone, not aspirin the next time I was pregnant and now have lovely dc1. I'm now pregnant again, I. Second triMester with dc2 and took progesterone until 20 weeks again :). Best of luck to you op, stay positive! Thanks

letshope · 24/10/2021 18:54

3-4 weeks is normal. I took 10 weeks

Pamparam · 24/10/2021 21:21

I’ve had 2 MMCs, found at 11/12 weeks, first one 6 weeks, second was 9 and I’d had a scan at 7 weeks too in which everything was fine so it was especially cruel. This time I’ve been taking 150mg of aspirin since I got my BFP and had a scan at 10 weeks in which all was fine. 12 weeks next week. 🤞 It’s complete anecdotal evidence but I don’t think it does any harm tbh.

letshope · 24/10/2021 21:54

@Pamparam thanks for sharing your journey. It's such a cruel world I've been there 2x unfortunatly. 😥
It seems that all the people I've spoken with all seem to have success from asprin - even though I know there isnt any scientific evidence that proves anything. But like you said, its not doing harm... but could be doing the world of good! ❤
I Have everything crossed for you for next week, please keep us posted!! 🤞 xx you've given me hope that my time will come.... thank you so much xxxx
