Fainting when pregnant

Hi!
I just had a shower and oh my gosh I nearly fainted and it's making me worry! This is my first pregnancy (26 weeks) and it's been pretty smooth sailing but I just got nauseous, dizzy, felt like I was breathing really oddly and had to dart out the shower and onto my bed! I've never felt so faint in my life. I looked in the mirror and was white as a sheet

Is this a cause for concern? Should I call anyone? Sorry if I sound pathetic, I've just never experienced it before!

Prob nothing to worried about but I would give ur midwife a call, so she could check your blood pressure and maybe your blood sugars

Okay, thank you @boymum88

I will call now Smile

This is why there is the 'mythical' advice not to have hot baths that over the years seems to have become reinterpreted as hot baths will harm your baby.

Hot baths/showers can cause you to feel woozy when you are pregnant.

I fainted a few times in pregnancies, the first time it happened I went to the doctor who took my blood pressure and told me to drink more water and eat little and often, and turn the temperature down in the shower.

Bless you! There is never any harm in calling your community midwife. They would rather hear from you than not.

In my first pregnancy I had a few similar turns on the train, also between 20 and 30 weeks - sweaty, pale, sick, about to black out (so embarrassing). The only thing the incidents had in common was that I had forgotten to bring water with me. Always keep a bottle handy! Just mentioning in case it’s helpful. Take care x

That is me after a bath normally. If it happens again, have a lie down and elevate your feet.

Currently 34 weeks and I had a blip like this a few weeks ago - but thankfully it was only temporary and I've felt 'alright' since.

Get them to check iron levels and iron stores.just before I fell pregnant I had this (in or out of shower!) Random dizzy spells, blurred vision and seeing stars. My ferritin stores were extremely low and was put on iron tablets...this helped greatly
