Ovary Pain at 6 Weeks + 3 Days

Good morning ladies,

I hope everyone is having a nice weekend. Just looking for a bit of advice and to see if anyone has had my particular pain before!

So after two losses in 2019 (ectopic and unknown), and no luck since. Hubs and I have just been through our first round of IVF and were lucky enough to get a BFP. Low AMH and at 35 the odds were low so our minds are still blown this worked for us.

Went for our first early scan two days ago and all is fine! We saw little bean, a little flicker of a heartbeat and bubs is in the right place, we’re still in shock as have never had a scan that went well.

Since yesterday afternoon after a short walk I started experiencing sharp stinging pains on and off around the area of my right ovary. The pain comes and goes and is more like a dull ache when I’m sat still or lying down. I have it also slightly on the left hand side as well and it just feels like I have big swollen ovaries/bloating! I feel okay in myself and it doesn’t feel enough to go to A&E, call 111 etc. I’ve messaged my IVF clinic but not expecting a reply until Monday.

Any ladies have any similar in early pregnancy?

Laura x

It could be corpus luteum on your ovary, I had similar. It could be a cyst or it might just be the pain from the luteum body. Try not to worry. Take some paracetemol which is safe in pregnancy x

It’s most likely nothing - but if you’re worried or feel you can’t wait till the IVF office opens I’d phone the midwife department at your local hospital.

Congratulations & I hope you have a wonderful pregnancy!Flowers
