Hi,
I am pregnant for the first time and I was wondering when I may start feeling baby move or kick? I have read it can take a little long to feel on your first pregnancy?

I am pregnant with my first and have an anterior placenta so feel the baby move a lot less but plancenta is no where near my cervix so i am happy.

I have felt her move from about 18 weeks but didn't know it was the baby!!!

It feels NOTHING like "flutters" for me.
It feels like i am being tickled by a hand on the inside or just like i am very itchy on the inside.
Ocassionally it feel like someone is pinching me. Confused

I am expecting my first to be a handful!

I'm a FTM with a posterior placenta & I felt the first movement at 17 weeks, felt like bubbles popping low in my abdomen. It was absolutely different to my normal gas movements. Then from 18 weeks I felt definite kicks which my partner could feel from the outside. There was no set pattern until much later though.

FTM with anterior placenta and I didn't feel what I classed as definite movements until about 23 weeks and even then they were not overly strong (i.e easy to miss when distracted) until about 28/29 weeks

NHS advice is you should feel baby move anytime from 16-24 weeks although it's likely after 20 weeks for FTM as FTM's are usually not aware what they are looking out for. They say you should contact your midwife if you haven't felt anything by 24 weeks.

All the best with your pregnancy

FTM here as well with an anterior placenta. I started feeling movements at around 18 weeks and would describe them as someone flicking me from the inside. Initially just a small area (like a finger flicking) but now I’m 24 weeks and I’m getting booted left right and centre (although I do have “quieter days” due to my placenta position
