Hi,
Has anyone else started sertraline half way through pregnancy?
How many weeks were you?
Did you have any side effects?
How did it help or did it help?
How was baby?

Hiya
I started on Sertraline at 28 weeks when I could no longer manage my anxiety and it was definitely the right decision for me.
I'd been on it before and the adjustment period made me feel very sick so this time I took it before bed to help mitigate that (much better!).
I've been on it 7 weeks now and, personally, the benefits are outweighing any minor risk.
I am a little nervous about baby having withdrawal but I'm on a low dose and hoping he won't be affected too much

Hope this is helpful

Hi, Sertraline is the safest antidepressant to take in pregnancy and can be taken throughout pregnancy and while breastfeeding. Babies are unlikely to have any withdrawal symptoms from it.

Hi I was switched onto sertraline at 28weeks 50mg and have been taking them absolutely fine and was told I could continue whilst breastfeeding.
Just to make you aware as I'm currently in labour and have just been told I've got to stay in for 24hrs to have baby monitored incase of withdrawal side effects so it's just something to note as I probably would of stopped them before baby was born x
