Due date today with baby number 2 and desperate for him to be OUT OUT OUT lol.

Anyone else in the same position?

I know the old wives tales and urban legends to getting labour going. I was 13 days late with my first son so I've been here before lol.

Currently sat bouncing on my ball and contemplating eating the several tins of pineapple I have in the cupboard. Even though I know they're both pointless Grin

Someone please say you're here with me too

🙋🏻‍♀️ Due today with my first.

Spoke to midwife on the old wives tales and she said the only one she thought helped a bit was sex lol, which is about the last thing I can handle right now!

Hope you go soon x

Hello! I am 41+6 today, induction booked for tomorrow and I am MISERABLE

The old wives tales are bollocks 😭

lottieeastwood · 11/10/2021 09:36

Hi! 40+4 here, trying not to feel impatient but feeling very fed up and like it's just never going to happen ☹️ hope you're all doing ok x

shivawn · 11/10/2021 09:42

40+4 today, I'm actually feeling great so I wouldn't mind being late if it wasn't for the fear of induction - I'd really like to labour at home for as long as possible. They won't induce until I'm 13 days late though so I still have time. I'm glad to have a bit of extra time to practice with my aniball too because I'm still not as far with it as I'd like to be before the birth.

Had a sweep at 40+1 and my cervix was closed plus his head wasn't engaged so I feel like I'll be waiting awhile.

Im out walking loads, getting between 12000-16000 steps a day - my midwife recommended that I walk with one foot on the road and one on the pavement but most roads near me aren't safe to do that and I look rediculous but I'm doing it here and there when it's quiet. Been doing loads of exercises on the ball, figure 8's, circles, pelvic trusts and just bouncing. My midwife wants me doing 3 hours a day but I'm probably getting less than 2 hours tbh. Going for acupuncture today with a lady that comes very highly recommended for helping baby to engage. Doing the Raspberry Leaf tablets and Rosemarry Oil capsules internally too.

Fingers crossed something will get him moving this week. In the meantime I'm just enjoying these last few days with my husband as a couple with no big responsibilities, having date nights every nights!

WatchOutLurkerAbout · 11/10/2021 10:09

Hi!

@crabette I know how you feel lol it is definitely not something I fancy right now!

@Kate105 yep totally with you on the miserable front. I hope your induction goes quick and smooth - you all packed and ready?

@lottieeastwood oh yes fed up to the nth degree!

Holy crap @shivawn how are you managing that?! I'm on crutches due to pelvic girdle pain and bending down to the washing machine is an Olympian feat never mind you know actually walking to the washing machine!

Baby has been engaged for weeks for me same as my first son so I'm in agony in my cervix with all the pressure and pain. Loads of braxton hicks daily - again bloody painful. Feel like I'm just being played with Sad

@WatchOutLurkerAbout I think I'm not having pelvic pain because he is still so high up, I'd rather have him engaged and take the pain at this stage!

Kate105 · 11/10/2021 11:29

Bag was packed weeks ago @WatchOutLurkerAbout so will repack today because I’ve completely forgotten what’s in it… Plus probably need to pack for a longer stay now 🙄 just praying they actually have room for me tomorrow, apparently not guaranteed a place if they’ve had a busy night! HUMPH

WatchOutLurkerAbout · 11/10/2021 11:36

@shivawn I've had it since 16 weeks, I had it in my first pregnancy too. Sadly it's nothing to do with baby it's all hormones and ligaments playing silly buggers. By this point I'm more excited about walking again than the baby being here Grin

Haha @Kate105 I don't blame you! I keep getting the urge to take mine apart and check it all. My husband still hasn't packed anything for himself and considering I puked on him last time you'd think he'd know better lol. Oh no will they put you on a ward or send you wandering?

OP posts:
Kate105 · 11/10/2021 16:16

I think post Covid I'll be stuck on a ward and expected to stay put... they've warned me it can take up to 5 days?!

WatchOutLurkerAbout · 11/10/2021 22:40

@Kate105 is it your first? It can take a long time or it can be quick it's honestly different for every woman. Tbf I wasn't induced with my first son and I was still in slow labour with contractions 20 minutes apart for 3 days non stop Confused

OP posts:
Kate105 · 12/10/2021 08:08

Yes it's my first. So anything could happen...! Have to phone at 9 to see if they'll have me today, wish me luck! Much as I don't really relish being induced, I also really need to not be pregnant any more 😂

WatchOutLurkerAbout · 12/10/2021 13:38

Argh I missed this morning @Kate105 hope you managed to get in and get a room! And yes yes yes I totally agree with that sentiment lol. I've just uninstalled and reinstalled my sons very large car seat. Clambering all over the car and I'm in agony now. Hasn't worked though lol

I'm going in at 4 @WatchOutLurkerAbout so will keep you posted! Eeek!

WatchOutLurkerAbout · 12/10/2021 14:36

Good luck I hope you get a quick easy and painless delivery Wink
