Chemical pregnancies / early miscarriage

Hey, just after some similar experiences or positive stories … I’ve just had my second chemical pregnancy / early miscarriage since July. The first one the lines on my tests were very faint from the start, so I had a bad feeling straight away. This most recent one, my tests looked good, but I started bleeding at 5 weeks and then tested negative once I should have been 6 weeks. I know these are quite common, I have a 1 year old daughter so am hopeful that it’s just bad luck! I’ve asked the GP for some blood tests to see if that shows anything, but other than try again, I’m wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation and gone on to have a healthy pregnancy?! X

Hey @siobhan2017, sorry to read about this. I hope you are ok.

We had a chemical in July and now 7 weeks pregnant. This is our second baby and we have a 15-month old Smile

Keep positive and it will happen!! x

I've had 2 chemicals: the first in February 2020 then another in August 2020. It was hard going and I started losing hope after the second. It took until April 2021 to get another BFP but this time it stuck! 3rd time lucky and I did nothing different, so there is hope. I'm now 27 weeks pregnant. Keep positive and keep going.

I had a chemical in October last year. A week after finding out I was pregnant to the day, I started bleeding and that was it. Tests went straight back to negative. Had a miscarriage in the March before the chemical. I then had 3 more miscarriages after the chemical. My most recent was in April of this year. So all within 12 months pretty much.

I am now 10 weeks on Sunday, had a scan at 6 weeks, showed heartbeat and all in line and fine with what it should be. Never got this far before to see a heartbeat. Had another scan at 8 weeks and again all perfect and was 3 days ahead and I have another scan Sunday (this is just for my own sanity) and hoping for another perfect outcome. And I feel so different about this pregnancy.

Sending all my love to you and there is always always hope x

@MissH995 sorry to hear you had such a difficult time! But amazing news that you are 10 weeks pregnant, that’s wonderful! It’s really reassuring to hear your experience of a healthy pregnancy after miscarriage xx

Hi OP, I've got a long and complicated medical history but had a missed miscarriage in 2020 then a miscarriage in may. Now pregnant a third time & around 7 weeks so yes it's very possible
Sending luck!

Hey I'm sorry you've gone through that, it's not at all a nice feeling. I think that if you have had 3 chemical pregnancies / early miscarriages that is when a GP might actually look into it a little more, otherwise they just tend to say it's common unfortunately. I had one in December - I was around 5 weeks. It then threw off my cycle for December (a longer cycle) and then I had a more normal cycle in January. Became pregnant in January and now almost 39weeks so please try not to lose hope, they say it is not at all a bad sign as it suggests you're ovulating etc and with a 1 year old at home you know everything has worked ok before!! Good luck! Xx
