Midwife gender prediction correct?

Hello, I'm currently 36 weeks pregnant and haven't found out the sex of my baby. However my midwife has confidently told me at my last 2 appointments its a boy based on the heartbeat! I was just wondering if anyone had had a similar experience and been proved right or wrong? Im hoping the surprise isnt spoilt!

What i mean is, it isn't possible to tell gender by the heart beat.

Fairly sure there is no difference between male and female heartbeats! I didn’t find out the sex but I ‘knew’ I was having a girl, and I did!

AFAIK there was actually a study done on this once - whether it's possible to predict sex based on heart rate.
Results showed that it's not! But hey you have a 50-50 chance of it being correct anyway

My 2 DS's were right going off there heartbeats, (even tho I found out at 20 weeks with DS1 and a gender scan with DS2) so you never know!! x

I saw a different midwife at every appointment with my first, who we didn't know the sex of until she arrived, and the guesses (based on heartbeat and the way I was carrying and how my pregnancy had been) were slightly more boy but pretty much 50:50. I even had the various HCPs involved in my induction having a guess as we were going along!

There's only one way to know for sure and that's to have a peep after they've been delivered 🙂

I had a midwife say she would put her life savings on mine being a girl because of the heartbeat. I had a private gender scan and he is definitely a boy. The sonographer said depending on what you were doing prior to doppler (walking, anxiety etc) can cause the babies heartbeat to fluctuate so it is a stupid old wives tale 🤣

My midwifes guess was for a girl. Baby is a boy
