Hello all, I'm currently 12 weeks pregnant and I'm really struggling with acne I know it's hormonal but it's really bringing me down. I have spoke to the dr to see what they'd advise using/taking and they said just persevere it's hormonal nothing you can do it'll be gone in 6 months 🙄 I'm just wondering if anyone has used anything specific to help, I've tried the original products and they're ok but it's still really bad, any advice would be great, thank you.

I’d book in for a facial if I were you, they can chat to you about your concerns and use suitable products that will help prep your skin. It’s frustrating as hormonal acne can’t just be cured with products but make sure you’re eating fresh foods, drinking water and managing stress as best as you can (stress is the worse for acne!). I’m the same with breakouts so I’ve booked in for a facial over the weekend and can’t wait! A bit of self-care and TLC x

Thank you I am booked for a facial two weeks Saturday but I'm nervous about showing my skin to get it. I know that sound stupid but it really is getting to me at the moment.

My pregnancy acne started to improve around 16-18 weeks and markedly improved after 20 weeks, so it may get better, I gather it's quite common to improve in the second trimester.

There are some topical creams that can be prescribed during pregnancy, try a different doctor if you can, or pester them. I decided to wait it out as I was very nervous, but it has left scarring.

I use sudocreme on the really sore spots, it helps dry them out/heal.

Thank you @AnxiousBear I really hope it does improve, well today was my second time talking to them and still no luck I'm just going to carry on with the skincare routine and water drinking I do now and hope it eases a bit in a few weeks, otherwise I'll have to contact them again.
