Advice - Very light pink discharge - 5+5 weeks

Last night I was having some TMI problems with constipation and did find myself straining on the toilet...went about the evening like normal, movie and relaxing. Before bed I wiped the lightest pink discharge (about four wipes in total) which has freaked me out.

No cramping over night and no wipes this morning. I've got increased nausea and my boobs still feel heavy/sore. Did a Clearblue test also and it is still showing very strong.

Has anybody had this? Is it worth phoning EPU or is it very common? Never had it with my first baby and we also had an early miscarriage in July. Thanks to anybody that takes the time to come back x

I personally wouldn't phone the EPU. Do you know for sure where the bleeding has come from? I thought I was bleeding the other day but it was actually from the back, not the front. I have been constipated and I'm also on blood thinners so it was a bit scary but all fine in the end!

Definitely from the front @lawandgin - it was in my urine when wiping. I'm going to hold off ringing as it was very light.

Got a private scan a week on Tuesday so 🤞🏼 all remains well.

I hope you are ok. Blood thinning injections are not nice!! How long do you have to do them? Take care x

@babyboybluex fingers crossed for your scan, I have one on Tuesday when I will be 8+1. I've been having them regularly due to complications of ivf treatment but I still get so nervous each time! That's also why I'm on the blood thinners. I've been on them a month and I hate them, I'm hoping they say I can come off them this week! x

Hi @babyboybluex just wondering how this turned out? I hope it was all okay for you.

I had some pink discharge briefly in the night, following a bit of an upset stomach the night before. No sign of anything since. I have an early scan on Monday anyway, but trying to work out if I should push to be seen over the weekend.

Hey @Hyggeandhugs! I'm currently 7+2 weeks, no more discharge and saw our babies heartbeat at the private scan on Tuesday 🎉

It must have just been a one off! I've got nausea, sore boobs and super tired so all moving in the right direction.

How are you? How is the discharge? I would just see how it goes over the next few days. It could just be a one off thing similar to what I had! Take it easy and keep positive - it will be ok x

Hey @babyboybluex just wanted to let you know I've experienced this too, when constipated! I read somewhere that it can happen in first trimester, nothing to worry about. It happened at 5ish weeks and then again at 6 weeks. I had some early scans too and everything was fine 🥰🥰 I bet your so relieved from your scan, it's the best feeling in the whole world ❤️❤️ im about 9+4 now 💕

@babyboybluex and @rttcbabyno1 thank you so much for your reassurances and I'm so pleased that you're both doing well 😊 I'm so nervous and excited to have my scan!

I've just spoke to a midwife who said it's probably irritation from the stomach upset and that I should be okay to wait for Monday. She did say I could ring 111 to see if they could move the scan forward, just for reassurance, but that they'd probably be unable to get it any earlier if I'm not actively bleeding.

She was so lovely and kind and so between her reassurances and yours I think I feel happier to just wait for Monday, unless things get worse.
