Heyy,

Just wanted to have an open chat about what people think about getting the vaccine when pregnant?

Im currently 20 weeks and havent had it but my midwife is pushing it a lot.

Has anyone had it whilst pregnant? How were you?

thanks xx

Because of my own situation, I am personally aware of three women who caught Covid then had very, very premature babies. Those babies are absolutely fine I am happy to say, but their parents could not meet them until the 10 days were up. Get the jab.

Had my first Pfizer at 17 weeks and second at 25/26 weeks - can't remember when exactly. Currently 33 weeks and baby is growing as expected.
The first jab I felt really tired the next day but literally one day and then felt fine and the second I had a sore arm and tingly hand for a couple of days.
I have been in close contact with a positive case this week so I'm really glad I've been vaccinated otherwise I'd be freaking out right now about the risk to me and the baby if I test positive. Instead I'm just worried I'll have to isolate for 2 weeks when I'm trying to enjoy my last weeks of freedom!

I've not had it while pregnant, but conceived about 3 weeks after the second dose. I'll be booking my booster dose ASAP, I work in a hospital so hopefully that will be soon!

Had my first at 9 weeks, second at 17 weeks (Moderna) now 26+2 and no issues as of yet :)

I had the Pfizer at 20wks (fine other than a sore arm) and 28wks (tiredness for a day). I was keen to have the vaccine before 3rd trimester, as really didn't want to risk pre-term labour or stillbirth. I'm 35wks now and baby is growing well.

I knew I had to put my faith in science when I decided to get pregnant during a pandemic. My husband and daughter both caught covid just as I entered the third trimester, and somehow I didn't catch it. I'm so grateful the option to be vaccinated was there.

I wouldn't want to be pregnant and unvaccinated, especially with all the talk in the news of another wave coming.

I tested positive for covid when I was 9 weeks pregnant and although I had mild symptoms I was terrified of the impact on baby. Luckily everything is fine and I'm now 14 weeks.

Had my first jab last week as the thought of catching it again later in pregnancy was awful. I work in a prison so it's quite a high risk environment and social distancing not always possible. For us, this seemed the best option

Why are we asking random strangers on the internet? Ask the professionals Jesus Christ

There are so many threads on this topic. Either respect medical advice and have it, or draw your own conclusions from Facebook and don’t have it. Just make sure you take sensible precautions, and isolate before the birth

Charlieiscool · 18/09/2021 14:02

Why would your midwife be encouraging you to have it if there wasn’t solid, established evidence that you should. You will be in serious trouble if you get covid in the 3rd trimester. Don’t listen to idiots, listen to those who know.

I’m 39 weeks and haven’t had mines. I intend to get them after baby is born. My OH is double vaccinated and both times he had a few side effects such as very sore arm, fatigue, sleeping a lot, aches and pains and just overall lethargic and not himself. Thats not what has put me off, it is just that I don’t feel comfortable getting it whilst pregnant but happy to get it after delivery.
