Hey! I’m 20 weeks today and over the past day or 2, I’ve had a really achy lower belly. Definitely not cramps but aches. I suppose at times it’s felt like a gentle stitch but not as intense. I feel so lucky to have felt baby move over the past couple of weeks (some days a lot, some days not so much) so I’m putting the aches down to everything stretching but interested if other people have experienced the same achy belly? I’m a FTM so all this is so new (no one tells you about all these feelings do they 😂)

Thanks ladies :)

I'm exactly the same! FTM and the aches have taken me by surprise. Although mine started at 16 weeks so now I'm never sure if twinges are baby movements or muscle twinges lol

Haha it’s all so confusing isn’t it! My belly isn’t bad at all today so it must have been a little growth spurt over the last few days. Hope everything’s going well with you and baby

I'm 21 weeks atm and the past weeks have been super achey. It's actually easing up a bit now - but at about 17/18 weeks I had similar stitchy pains, hip pains, and also quite a bit of 'pressure' - I even went to triage as it was freaking me out (all was fine and I was told to take it easy). I found walking for longer than 15 min and any sort of exercise too intense. My bump also seemed to grow quite a bit in these past weeks too, so I do really think it's growing pains!

it's all calming down a bit now and I went for a longer 1.5 hr walk the other day without a problem so it was a significant growth spurt I reckon !

@lavenderlilaclily oh I’m sorry you’ve been suffering too! It definitely makes sense with all the growing but my oh my no one pre-warns you do they! I’m the same with walking at the mo, I pay for it if I do too much. It’s reassuring to know that I’m not the only one having them so thank you for sharing

@AllSinging
How are you getting on? I realise this is oldish, I'm currently 19 weeks ans having period type cramps, lower backache, and bump feels hard and I'm feeling "pressure" convinced myself I'm going into preterm labour!

AllSinging · 05/11/2021 23:07

Hiya @ANABANANA16 all is good thank you, I’m now 27+2. It’s funny as I saw the notification and couldn’t even remember writing this thread so it just shows you how much things come and go! I’ve had so many different aches and sensations over the weeks and have been reassured by midwives etc as I just don’t know what is “normal”. If you are ever worried/concerned, don’t hesitate getting in touch with your midwife/triage but from my experience, all these aches and twinges have been part of pregnancy. Hope it eases for you soon x
