OK, I loved the thread about names for a baby girl - I've pinched loads of names off of it for my list of possibles.

So seeing as I'm expecting and I don't know if it's a boy or a girl i thought we could do boys names now.

I've thought of a few I like but I'm really struggling with boys names.......

any ideas???????

Max
Ethan
Harvey
Harrison
George
Alfie

spacemonkey · 10/11/2004 10:57

ds was called Alfie for his first few weeks, but we changed our minds when it came to the crunch, thank god - I wouldn't be able to bear it if people thought he was named after Alfie Moon!

My ds is called Finlay. I wanted Cameron, Harvey or Ethan but as soon as dp got Finlay into his head I didnt get much choice!!

I love love love Noah but dh says "no". If I have a boy he will probably be Jacob, it's the only one we can agree on.

motherpeculiar · 10/11/2004 11:03

matthew
luke
zeban
alex
ruairi

also love finn, isaac and felix (choice for DD if she'd been a boy - a bit popular round our nurseries now though, unfortunately) which have been mentioned already

can't tell you my current no. 1 choice for a boy - couldn't bear any negative comments as I've loved it for sooo long.....

zephyrcat · 10/11/2004 11:03

I love all the biblical names - Joseph, samuel, Jacob, Isaac, Zachary but dp wasn't into it. He prefers old 'traditional' names. His argument agains Cameron was it was too scottish (doesnt get more scottish than Finlay!!??) (no offence to the scots - I am one myself!!)

popsycal · 10/11/2004 11:03

reuben

motherpeculiar · 10/11/2004 11:04

ooooh yes, Oscar is lovely

northstar · 10/11/2004 11:08

Oscar is perfect!

SpringChicken · 10/11/2004 11:08

Our DD was going to be Finley Patrick if she was a boy.

Also liked Dylan and Zach but with DP's surname dillon sounded like a bit of a thicko - the syllables didnt work.
Also a friend had Zach just before DD was born.

Cant have Finley niw as it clashed with DD's name so best get thinking.

SpringChicken · 10/11/2004 11:09

Talk about thicko.................DYLAN

orangina · 10/11/2004 11:21

i like bruno, but dh won't hear of it..... all the names that either one (but not the other) likes, instead of being binned altogether, are in a big pile called "names for a future pet". Including bruno!

Blackduck · 10/11/2004 11:25

I think boys names are soooooooo much harder than girls names. We had the girls name within minutes and took the next 6 months to agree on a boys name....

spook · 10/11/2004 11:29

My 2 gorgeous boys are Joe and Finn (Finlay when he's bbaaadd) I also love Sonny,Buddy,Ethan,Max and Jake (bit Tweenies)

teabelly · 10/11/2004 11:36

When we were expecting ds we knew he was Luke staight away. Didn't have any other boy's names though so a bit stuck myself for this one...do like Matthew (Matt), but as dh is Mark it would look like we were going for a new testament full house, hee hee

Emmalina · 10/11/2004 11:37

Boys names are hard. We were going to go for Dylan but my school teacher friend says it is really common amongst kids these days. Another friend who works in Tescos said that three people on the checkout alone are called Dylan. Needless to say we have gone off it.
DH thinks endlessly of how each name will result in the poor child being picked on at school. I guess it is a boy thing. Anyway back to square one.

Reuben
Ben
Kieran
Dominic

NB. school teacher friend has a girl in her class called Lasagne. I'm not joking.

Discomonkfish · 10/11/2004 11:39

We've got lots of ideas for boys names but none for girls will check out the baby girl thread ...

Blackduck · 10/11/2004 11:39

Friend has a Reuben and a Zebulen (I kid you not...)we're not sure if he's going for the whole set...

zephyrcat · 10/11/2004 11:40

I'm amazed at how many times Finn/Finlay has come up - we loved it because we thought no-one had it lol although I looked on the Bounty website top 100 and it was never on there ..... now its 69!!
