Annual Leave and SMP

Hello. Does anyone know if you take annual leave while receiving SMP if affects the SMP?

Well if you’re on AL you’re not on maternity leave, so surely it stops?!

No! As pp said - if you're on annual leave you're not on maternity leave any more?!

I took mine before and after but it would be silly to take it during as you won't get paid your mat pay.

You accrue your annual leave whilst on maternity leave. Lots of women tack at least some of it onto the end of maternity leave to have a bit more leave where you are paid. If you're on annual leave, you're not on maternity leave any more - you've officially returned to work.

Thought that might be the case. I was hoping I might be able to use some annual leave to bulk up my mat pay a bit. Wishful thinking
