Pregnant with a 5 month old!

Just found out I'm pregnant, due mid May, but I also have a 5 month old baby. And a 5 year old.

Don't get me wrong, we haven't been using any contraception, because we knew we didn't want a 5 year gap again and we wanted them to be quite close together, so this new pregnancy was planned. But I'd just like to hear from a few people who have 2 babies this close together, to tell me I'm not completely insane 😂

I would love to be in your position so am biased and think it'll be great! I'm sure I have seen a 2 under 2 thread on here. Have you searched the parenting threads?

Oh and more importantly, congratulations!

@Flittingaboutagain thank you. I haven't, I'll look in a mo. My mum managed with 3 under 5 at one point, so I know it's possible!

Congratulations!! Depends on your babies 😅 My firstborn was, bless him, an utter nightmare. My second born (also pregnant 5 months after birth of first) was a dream, it was very hard though BUT only because or, at least, 90% because my firstborn was so, so high needs. Don't regret it at all though as they are so close now. Wouldn't do it again though 😂

I should say I had 3 under 3.5.....very hard the first few years, bloody awesome now they're 3 under 8.5

I fell pregnant when our 2nd was 5mth and eldest 5yr. I miscarried that one at 8wk but got pregnant with our 3rd soon after so have a 16.5mth gap between 2nd & 3rd.
It was not overly hard having a small age gap, tiring though. We had twins when 3rd was a couple of months from turning 3 (totally exhausting but awesome too) and had our 6th in Aug with a 6yr age gap after the twins. You have ups and downs with any age gap, activities can be harder with the bigger gaps due to things often having small age range targets.

You are not insane at all and you have experience on your side after the 1st. I find they slot in to family life pretty easily, routines are your best friend. Good luck.

Two friends had babies less than a year apart. I don't recall them finding it that difficult as both were fit and healthy. Sure hard work but I wouldn't have thought that much more than usual - mine were 20 months apart.

Thank you all, I will survive 😂

Congrats!! I can’t tell you yet but I’m due December and I will have 14 months between my Son and new baby! Everyone thinks we are crazy but I’m feeling prepared, it’s fresh in my mind still about the lack of sleep in the early days, coming out the other side of weaning my first where I can just give them a sandwich etc but I won’t have forgot where to start with weaning etc! Babies should grow up to be close and entertained by similar things with similar interests.
So I feel these are all plus points!

I think as long as you can except the early days will feel overwhelming but you’ll push through, you’ll be fine! When they’re off to school and your friends are starting again we will have some peace 🤣xxx
