Cramping and spotting

Hey, I'm currently 7 weeks pregnant and for 2 weeks I've been getting brown spotting and on and off cramping. I had a scan at 6w3d which saw the heart beat however my cramps are getting more severe and the spotting is still there. Has anyone experienced this ?

Call the labour ward for advice. Best to get ot checked out.

Definitely call the labour ward, but for reassurance, I had this around the same time. It lasted for 10 days then disappeared. I'm 18 weeks now and so far it's not returned.

Hi @Amelia1995. I had this and was absolutely convinced I had lost the baby, particularly with the cramps but I am still very much pregnant and a few weeks further along and we have seen the heartbeat. Try not to worry, apparently brown spotting and cramping are normal but it may be worth going to the early pregnancy unit for reassurance.

All the best. I see a couple of pp have posted to say contact the labour ward. Based on my own experiences in the last, I believe you would be too early in pregnancy for labour/maternity ward and would need to contact the Early Pregnancy Unit. Take care.
