HELP!! Constant nausea

What are your tips for helping with nausea?

I'm desperate 😩 I'm 6 1/2 weeks and it's really getting to me. I've only actually been sick about 5 times, but the nausea is so bad I haven't even left the house in 3 days.

To make it worse, I've completely gone off food. Nothing appeals to me and I'm having to force myself to eat. It's an endless circle of feeling sick because I'm hungry, eating, then feeling sick because I ate.

Please tell me this won't last the full 9 months 🙈
@PeachScone glad it’s not just me who thinks my house smells! I have to close all the doors and sit alone whilst my partner feeds the dog.
Me too!

My DH heated up some curry for his lunch yesterday. I came downstairs at the same time to try to force myself to eat something, the smell was just too much and I promptly vomited 🙈

I also can't stand the smell of my dog at the moment even though she's not a smelly dog in general and I normally love breathing her smell in (sounds weird I know!)

I definitely agree with PP’s that you should speak to your GP. With my first cyclizine almost cured my nausea. Very cold lucozade helped as well and bread sticks. With my second the cyclizine didn’t touch it so the GP tried various other meds and eventually the last one did help a bit.
As others have said it’s really important to keep hydrated and the GP will want to keep an eye on that testing your urine for ketones.

Thank you all,
I'm going to see if I can handle it on my own and work out a 'routine' that helps before turning to medication. (Only because I try and avoid meds as much as possible but if I really can't handle it then I'll go for the meds)

This morning I got up and ate 2 fruit pastilles straight away and 'touch wood' the sickness is not as bad so far today.

I'm not even 5 weeks yet, but really suffering - although it is possibly more to do with the fact I have something called ohss (ivf pregnancy). I ended up in hospital on a drip on Monday and they also gave me lots of IV antisickness meds. The thought of weeks or months of this is so depressing, but so far I've learnt: eat little and often (and what you fancy) don't drink anything on an empty stomach and salt and vinegar crisps are amazing. I'm currently waking up with extreme nausea at 5.30 every morning and munching a packet of salt and vinegar squares!

Arrowroot biscuits did the trick for me. I had constant nausea from 4 weeks until i tried these around 9 weeks. Was never actually sick. I flipped between these and mini gingerbread men. Oranges also helped me and found them very refreshing. All i could drink which would help was flat lemonade. I hope it eases up for you soon.

I've been the same! Only actually thrown up once, but the nausea is quite honestly debilitating
I've recently switched to single tablets for folic acid, iron, and vitamin d as I read some women have had trouble with the all in ones and it has actually helped a bit! That and eating almost the second I wake up, which is harder than it sounds 😂
I hope yours gets better soon! There's nothing worse than feeling like this and not being able to do anything about it

Forgot to add I'm now 12+4 and it has improved, but not by much!

@bubblepond I feel so bad about our dog. I feel everything about him smells, and makes me gag. He’s not actually smelly at all, he’s a gorgeous 10 month old lab puppy, and almost overnight I just find it hard to be around him. Can’t wait until I feel ok again, because I do feel guilty not feeding him and cuddling him like normal.
