Just looking to vent my thoughts to anyone who isn't my partner right now to be honest so anyone who will listen 👂

I found out I was preganant last week, midwife advised currently 6/7 weeks from date of last period. Everything seemed okay I had sore boobs and felt tired but the past 3 days I've not felt any of those things (except from lack of sleep worrying), two days ago I had some brown discharge with stringy bits - not enough to mark my pants but only when wiping, then yesterday it was more and was on my pants, then on the night just before bed I had red blood which I would say looked like period blood tbh, with a clot I expected today to wake up to a pool of it but it didn't happen and now I am back the brown with stringy bits.

I'm booked in for a scan tomorrow with the EPU they have been so lovely and I'm mentally preparing myself for bad news, however I've also been looking at the dates for me to be '6 weeks' pregnant and the time of conception just doesn't seem right to me as I actually had Covid a week after my last period so I am wondering whether this has thrown out my cycle and what I'm currently seeing is implantation and not as far gone as they think? But hey I could be clutching at straws!

Hey! Didn’t want to read and run, I had very similar for 9 days after my BFP, brown stringy discharge and then some red/pink spotting and then brown discharge on and off! I was expecting the worst after a loss last year but scans showed baby was fine and the doctors said it could’ve been an old burst blood vessel that was taking a while to come away.

This all started about 5 weeks and then finally went away at 8 weeks and had no more (36 weeks now!)

Fingers crossed it’s all okay for you and you get some good news at EPU x

@unicornpower congratulations on your pregnancy that's great news, I'm amazed at how common this is and whilst it's not good news for all it's such a relief I'm not the only person experiencing this. Feel like anyone you speak to in real life will only tell you a good story.

Thankyou so much I'm hoping all is as it should be but also going with a realistic mindset what will be will be. We also told our parents recently as our first baby and was a little shock to us and now totally regretting that decision as if bad news it's telling them too x

Just an update I saw an out of hours GP last night as bleeding got heavier and cramps became more painful. She treated me for a urine infection and did 6 pregnancy tests - all that came back negative. Safe to say I felt like I had made the whole thing up but she was so lovely, she said she couldn't say yes or no based on this and I should get a blood test with my GP to confirm.

Unsure whether I should attend the EPU today as 6 negative tests confirms to me there is no more baby, however I had a clear blue digital at home took that this morning and it's positive again so I'm so confused now. I know the hormone stays in your system and to be honest I truly believe there is no baby now. I don't want to be wasting NHS time when there probably isn't anything they can do for me, but I'm due to go away today and would rather know yes or no for the best so I know what I can / can't do if that makes sense.

Go for your scan that way you know for sure. When I was pregnant with DD I had two massive bleeds far heavier than any period I'd ever had and I was adamant that I'd lost her. My second bleed was the day before going away and I couldn't get into get a scan as it was a Sunday so had to go the week without knowing and that was really hard. Good luck today.

@Pixie921
Still go to your app I have had 4 miscarriages and 1 cp and when I had bleeding it was closure to know what was really happening being in limbo messes with your head, goodluck 💚

Spoke to the EPU this morning and they have said due to the 6 negative tests yesterday they are fairly certain what I've picked up this morning is the hormone that is remaining as stronger in the AM than the PM. I've requested a blood test with my GP to confirm so will hopefully have that done today. She advised to take another test in a week and if still positive she will see me.

My partner is pushing for the scan today but with the amount of blood leaving me I know it wouldn't be good news, don't want to be proded and poked to be told news I'm certain I already know. Think he is clutching at straws everything is okay. Us women don't have it easy do we.
