6 weeks pregnant but feel fine

Hi ladies,

I found out I was pregnant last week, doctors have said approx. 6 weeks but no scan as of yet. It's taken me a while to digest this news but now I am starting to feel excited.

I've been having sore boobs on and off and feel tired but other than that no other symptoms so as a natural worrier I am starting to worry if everything is as it should be. I went to the toilet this morning and there was a little bit of brown string mucus (TMI sorry!)

We have booked an early scan for 4th September but finding the wait really difficult at the moment especially with no symptoms at all, my partner is also super excited and I just have the worst fear of getting there to bad news.

Guess I'm just looking for someone who is sharing this experience as feeling alone at the mo!

Hi there!

I'm currently 13 weeks pregnant and have experienced alot of losses in the past.

I can honestly tell you that this time I've had on and off spotting and everything is fine! It's one of those things that can just happen! I know it doesn't mean for definite that everythings OK but just try stay positive ❤️ it literally could be implantation or you may just have a small hematoma (I had a hematoma hence why I was spotting), also my morning sickness didn't come until 7/8 weeks pregnant and is still going strong. I had terrible sickness and started very early with sickness with my losses so strong symptoms early days doesn't always mean things will be good. I think what I'm trying to say is try relax, these are classic signs of early pregnancy... Its torture 😂!

Good luck for your appointment and I hope you get good news ❤️

@Pixie921 thanks so much, and congrats to you too! It's so difficult isn't it. It's so nerve wracking. I'm 13 weeks and I'm still not over the nerves and anxiety yet. It's torture! But we got this ❤️ please leave a message on this if you just need to chat and vent. Having a place to talk to others that understand can really help! I will reply as soon as I can! Honestly, I'm here! Massive good luck xx

Thankyou! Definitely agree, the pregnancy was a little shock tbh but now I have gotten over the initial shock I'm really happy and just worried now😓 typical isn't it! When is your due date? I'm not sure whether I should be calling my doctor surgery but I'm thinking what would they actually do for me or just ride it out until the scan. Hopefully once scan had happened I can chill out a little bit ❤️❤️

Update - had more last night than before called 111 for advise who referred me to GP for the following day. Later on in the evening it was then red blood with a clot so expecting the worst now, however I thought I'd be in the same situation today but it's back to brown discharge. The limbo of not knowing is driving me bonkers!

I would get in touch with your epu and see if they can get you in for a scan? Because you have had this bleeding they should see you! I have my fingers crossed that everything is OK!

I'm due on the 26th February xx

Bells3032 · 26/08/2021 09:57

I didn't get any symptoms and didn't even know i was pregnant til 7 weeks. Even then symptoms were fairly mild and ignorable til about 9 weeks!

Pixie921 · 26/08/2021 13:26

I have a scan booked for tomorrow afternoon, so hopefully will know either way what is happening but have accepted the worst case news, my partner on the other hand remains very positive and worry he's setting himself up for disappointment if we did get bad news.

So far there has only been one lot of bleeding on the tissue which was last night, the rest has just been light brown stuff throughout today on and off so who knows what is happening, just want to know either way what's going on for my own sanity I think!

Hi Pixie, really got my fingers crossed for you! I am in a similar position - I thought I was approx 7/8weeks, but had an early scan yesterday and they estimated 6 weeks, but no signs of an embryo, just gestational sac! she seemed a little concerned and said I should get a referral to the EPU - spoke to my GP this morn who assured me I'd be contacted asap, but nothing yet... just wondering how long it took for the EPU to book you in? This limbo time is just so torturous!!

Pixie921 · 26/08/2021 17:29

@vmds1990 sorry to hear you are having a rough time too, hoping all goes well for you. The EPU were pretty good they called me today 30 mins after speaking to my doctor and got me booked in for tomorrow though I am travelling a little further to a different hospital to have it otherwise the wait for my local hospital was next week. I just don't 'feel' pregnant now whereas when I did the test I knew something wasn't quite right with me if that makes sense? Now all I have is a dull ache in my tummy and on / off cramps.

Just an update I saw an out of hours GP last night who did 6 pregnancy tests and they all came back negative 🙃 safe to say I felt like an absolute idiot. She was so lovely tho and said she couldn't say for definate yes or no so should confirm this with the GP via a blood test.

Now I have an EPU appointment today also, however I really don't want to be probed all day when I already know the answer to what has happened here. I took a pregnancy test this morning and it's come back positive --- so now I'm very confused. I am of the impression I 100% have lost this one.

I'm due to go away today and was meant to be leaving dead early, we delayed so we could go to the appointment as more important but now I don't want to wait until 2pm to have a vaginal scan and be told exactly what I know especially when I am bleeding so much blood at the moment. Going to ring them at 8pm and see what they advise.

Hey Pixie,
What did they advise? I think it's worthwhile going to the appointment - it's not necessarily about the pregnancy but about making sure that you're okay too. I'm sorry it's been such a rough ride for you.

Hi Pixie, so sorry to hear this! but maybe for a definite answer it might be beneficial to go the appointment, might bring you a bit of comfort! Sending lots of best wishes to you!

Pixie921 · 28/08/2021 09:34

I spoke to EPU yesterday morning and they said after the 6 negative tests though I've had a positive it's probably the reminance of hormone flagging, advised no point in a scan now based on this and the symptoms I was having and likeliness is that there isn't a baby now. Said to test again in a week and it should be negative, so will do that. They were lovely about everything though, really couldn't fault them. However from yesterday afternoon to today there is no more blood and is just brown again so seems so strange as I expected to be bleeding quite heavily over the next few days. Thanks all for your kind words it's been so helpful having people to speak to and share my experience with, wishing you all the best ❤️🥰
