Paranoid I've got listeria

So I had a chicken ham sandwich over the weekend and it tasted a bit odd so I only ate half. Later when I was in the fridge for something else I caught a smell of the ham packet and it smelt really bad so binned the whole packet.
Hubby made the sandwich and I asked him did the ham smell weird when you made it, he said it smelled a bit odd but he thought it was just packaged meat smell...
Anyway, I haven't been sick but am really worried I've given myself listeria! So I know there is a possible risk of listeria from processed meats anyway but this is super small. But can you get listeria from meat that's gone off, or is it more likely to get "normal" food poisoning which doesn't generally affect baby?

@CityGirl182 I was given some really out of date mozzarella in a meal, and ate half, before I realised it tasted funny and asked to see the expiry. That was about seven weeks ago. I did email the midwife and she said if you've eaten it there's nothing that can be done now. But she said just watch out for feeling very unwell, temperature, nausea, vomiting or bad diarrhoea. I haven't had any of those but you can get a private test for £60 with no symptoms if you have worries - listeria can take a month to develop so we were looking to get it a month after eating the mozzarella. However as I haven't felt at all ill I haven't bothered. I was massively worried at the time, but listeria is very rare in the U.K.

Firstly, pork is gross and when it is going bad it smells rank like exactly what it is - dead pig flesh. I had a food aversion to meat in first pregnancy and have been vegetarian ever since. I'm pregnant again and can't even go in supermarket as meat aisle is like smelling rotting carcasses. Your sense of smell is so heightened in pregnancy, you'll be smelling everything as stronger than before. Listeria is really rare in this country, and you're not likely to get it from cooked packeted meat as it's so processed and gone through a vigorous heating process. The risk is minuscule

I accidentally ate unpasteurised yoghurt in France, and worried for ages after it. About 90 days have now passed and the baby seems to be fine (though I am still terrified), so hopefully all ok. I know that listeria is really rare, but I sympathise with your paranoia. I had a non-alcoholic beer at my friend's last night, and now I am worrying excessively that it was a craft beer and wasn't pasteurised, as they don't need to say pasteurised on the back. I didn't recognise the brand. I guess there's not much that can be done except to wait and remind ourselves that listeria is rare!

That's true, I hadn't thought it probably smelt way worse to me than hubby.
Yeah, I think it's pregnancy paranoia, but if I do get ill then I will obviously go to the gp/midwife!
