Diarrhoea in pregnancy

Hi ladies!

So I'm usually the other way haha I can go a week to 10 days without opening my bowels and when I do it isn't a full movement.

It was my birthday yesterday and my husband booked a lovely night away for us and a spa day in a castle but ended with us on the labour ward due to severe abdominal pain. Baby was fine and everything normal they just seem to think due to my lack of movement I have a stomach bug and I'm over loaded.. I haven't left the toilet since. This is so alien to me as I'm usually so constipated. I'm 27 weeks

Any remedies for loose stools which have done you wonders? (Sorry if tmi but these things happen 😂)

I'm just 28 weeks and have been the same on and off for two weeks.

I find fried or fatty food makes it worse. The stomach cramps are similar to labour 😩

Drink lots and find food that doesn't cause it. For me its lots of veg and not eating after dinner x

I had it when I was pregnant! In the middle of the night once when I was around 20 odd weeks I sat on the loo and it was explosive but was really unexpected and random I remember saying "what the fuck" out loud. I only went for a wee!!

I went straight back in the room and posted on here to see if it was common and turned out it was lol so don't worry xx

@Bennetgirl

Ohh I'm glad it isn't just me!

The pain was horrendous, I honestly thought I was in labour 😂

I'm just trying to flush it out, I've just stocked up on all the veggies and the doctor told me to try and stick to dry foods so I've said goodbye to the nice things 😂

@FirstTimeMommy2021

This is exactly what happened! I didn't even feel it coming out it was just liquid (sorry) 😂

It just worried me because I'm usually the exact opposite.. pregnancy is such a wonderful thing haha

It's weird. I've never had it before and this is no 4!

I can't work out what's worse, this or constipation 😂 x

FirstTimeMommy2021 · 22/08/2021 19:53

Yes @OliviaL9530 it does the most weird and wonderful things to our bodies inside and out lol but would have it any other way 🥰❤️

FirstTimeMommy2021 · 22/08/2021 19:55

I meant wouldn't*

I had it on and off throughout my pregnancy. I would wake up to go in the night, so annoying.

It really ramped up from about 30 weeks and the last week before labour (@35 weeks) I was basically on the toilet non stop.

badg3r · 22/08/2021 20:46

I was taking ridiculous amounts of iron and shirt shitting green soup for the entirety of my pregnancy. What worked best for me was.... having the baby 😂

I had diarrhoea when I was pregnant, after 5 days I called the dr and they prescribed codeine. Apparently it's safe in pregnancy and a side effect is that it binds you...
