I conceived the day I received my second dose , I’m 5 weeks pregnant now and having a mild panic . Looking for some success stories of anyone who conceived closely after being fully vaccinated . 🙏🏻

Why are you panicking? You have a lower chance of catching covid now whilst pregnant?

SmidgenofaPigeon · 21/08/2021 11:04

What impact do you think the vaccine has had on your conception or the implantation Confused

PurpleishDahlia · 21/08/2021 11:05

Congratulations!
I am not pregnant any more, just had my little one (fully vaccinated).
Why are you panicking?
Good luck :)

No idea why you’re panicking 🤷🏼‍♀️

SaraKitty · 21/08/2021 12:55

The panic is because I had the vaccine the same day of conception. Where I live they don’t recommend vaccine prior 14 weeks . Just hoping all will be ok give I conceived so close to getting it . But I’m sure all will be ok was just looking here for some reassurance !

Congratulations i got pregnant 3 weeks after mine, so far all is good.

BabyC21 · 21/08/2021 13:07

@SaraKitty are you in Ireland? I am, the 14 weeks is that you don’t get a fever or reaction after the vaccine (48 hours) which can increase the chance of miscarriage in first trimester. As it’s been a number of weeks since you conceived you don’t need to worry. I had my vaccines at 22 & 26 weeks - I would have had them earlier only wasn’t available to me. I have a healthy two week old baby boy.

I believe in the UK (or England at least) they recommend having it at any time in pregnancy; I know a family member having her second dose at around 10 weeks pregnant. I watched a webinar with a fertility/ vaccine specialist (on pregnant then screwed Instagram) who felt it was fine at any stage and better to be protected!

ShrimpingViolet · 21/08/2021 13:22

I had my first dose, then conceived and had the second when I was 6 weeks and my midwife said it was recommended to have the vaccine at any stage. I felt a bit rough after the second dose with a mild fever but absolutely no issues. Sure it'll be fine OP Smile

I started ttc immediately after second jab because I didn't want to be pregnant without it. The guidance in England is that you don't need to wait. I got pregnant about 2 weeks later. I'm now entering 3rd trimester and everything is fine.

Got pregnant a week or two after my second jab. Now 17 weeks and baby looking happy and healthy so far :)

Have two friends that conceived within a couple of weeks and both now at 11 weeks.

Conceived the week after my second vaccine, 24 weeks on Monday.

Kerrieeb · 22/08/2021 09:14

Hi, I conceived 6 days after my second jab 🙂

glasspaw · 22/08/2021 17:38

I conceived about 10 days before jab 1 (didn’t know it at the time) just had my second in week 14. Glad I did. Feel much safer knowing I’ve got some protection.

XenaAura · 23/08/2021 14:08

Conceived 4 weeks after my second =) 13 weeks now and everything looks good!

jolota · 23/08/2021 16:58

I got pregnant like 2 weeks after my first vaccine, second at 9 weeks, now 13 weeks.

Please try not to panic, I know how you feel though! I conceived 3 weeks after my third dose (I was part of the Astrazenica trial in Oxford, had first ad second dose in April and may of last year and third dose in March last year). After my third dose I was actually told by the doctor to make sure to use contraception for a month but it happened anyway. Anyway, 21 weeks so far and everything has come back normal and I feel I’ve had a very “normal” pregnancy. The vaccine trial team are monitoring me but even they’ve said they’re not concerned. My point is - I’ve had 3 doses and were both doing well so I’m sure you will be too :) but yes, it’s terrifying when you see those headlines isn’t it? (I’ve followed them all) just remember to listen to your doctors/ midwives if you’re worried and try to ignore the negative press stories. I know it’s hard!

Evianontoast · 23/08/2021 17:05
  • I meant to say I had the third dose in March this year.

The panic is because I had the vaccine the same day of conception. Where I live they don’t recommend vaccine prior 14 weeks . Just hoping all will be ok give I conceived so close to getting it . But I’m sure all will be ok was just looking here for some reassurance !
My timelines sound very similar to yours. Second AZ vaccination probably at around 1-2 weeks? Very early on anyway, as I didn't realise I was pregnant. I'm now almost 15 weeks and everything looking ok so far at scans. Totally understand your concerns, but personally I would rather be vaccinated than not - even during pregnancy Smile

I think that's just because of the risk of blood clots not because it will affect the babies development, I'm sure they would be a lot more strict if it did affect babies development, maybe try and speak to your GP if you're concerned?

I had my second dose of the Pfizer vaccine when I was 4 weeks pregnant - I didn't actually know I was pregnant until I did a test a few days later. I'm only 8 weeks now so it's still early days but so far everything seems to be going the same way as when I was pregnant with my son, who is now a healthy 21 month old.
