hey guys sorry if this has been spoke about already, but ive currently come of my implant (july 19th 21') I bled for a little while not much more like spotting then it stopped ive currently been using 'seven seas trying for a baby' also. I woke up sunday morning (15thaugust) and I was bleeding just spotting a bit like the implantation bleed but then by the Monday morning (16th august) I was bleeding quite heavy stomach cramps the lot sad so assumed this was a proper period but now im not so sure as ive now stopped bleeding... does anyone have any advice? I work in a sexual health clinic (im a cleaner for nhs) and spoke to a lady there and she said I could've potentially had a miscarriage??? is this correct I hope not xx

It could just be body getting back into a regular cycle. You would have had get pregnant 2 weeks after implant coming out. Then started period as normal and start of this week day 28. Unless you have done a early pregnancy test no way of knowing for sure.

Jessica1921 · 19/08/2021 19:04

I took test this morning and it was negative.. I guessed it would be thou. just confused me as to why I bled and then I have all of a sudden stopped... and now I feel fine.. x

You had a 5 day bleed still within limits of normal period for lots of people. Hope all goes well and body settles on proper routine and you get positive result soon

If you had the implant removed on 19 July and started bleeding at the weekend it's your period?

I'm not sure if I've missed something?

Jessica1921 · 19/08/2021 19:43

I didn’t bleed for 5 days 🤦🏻‍♀️ I had implant out on 19th July bled for a few days which is normal after removal and then 3 days ago I bled which was light then it came heavy over night and then day after it stopped completely, I wanted to know if it was an implantation bleed Smile

It is super super common to have unscheduled bleeding using hormonal contraception. Especially in the case of the implant when it is first inserted or removed. This can range from frequent bleeding, prolonged bleeding, irregular bleeding, spotting,to break through bleeding.
I had 3 years of erratic bleeding when I had an implant in my arm.
You can technically get pregnant immediately once it is removed but in reality it can take 3-12 months.
If you did have a chemical pregnancy your hCG levels would have initially elevated enough to produce a positive result on a pregnancy test but dip again before a doctor can see the gestational sac on an ultrasound.
But as you're saying you took a test that was negative I would be pretty sure it wasn't a chemical and infact it is just your cycle returning causing unpredictable bleeding.

LividLaVidaLoca · 19/08/2021 19:45

Sounds like you had a period. Your hormones will be wacky after the implant.

Akire · 19/08/2021 19:46

If you took pregnancy test and it was negative there is no way can be implantation bleed because you are not pregnant

romdowa · 19/08/2021 19:51

It's just the withdrawal from the implant more than likely. It can take months for your cycles to become regular after you remove it. Same as how it can be unsettled after you've had it inserted. Did the person who removed it not explain this to you?

Moominmiss · 19/08/2021 19:57

Sounds like you had a typical withdrawal bleed after having it removed, and then the bleeding at the weekend was your usual period returning.

After having any form of hormonal contraception it’s pretty standard to have your periods not come back completely normal straight away. You still had a good few days of spotting and bleeding which would indicate a period.

I would think very unlikely to be implantation bleeding. Usually implantation bleeding isn’t heavy and wouldn’t be accompanied by any cramping.

Good luck with getting your bfp soon!

sylbunny · 19/08/2021 20:00

Highly unlikely to be a miscarriage. You'd still be showing a positive on a test. When you come off hormonal contraceptives periods can be all over the place for a while ... in some cases for up to a year. Really irresponsible of your colleague to say that and not very well informed of them.

Jessica1921 · 19/08/2021 20:17

Thank u all for ur advice still really confused how I would have had a period for literally one day Confused but I’ll go with that for now Flowers xx
