I took a normal stick test last night and it came up positive but it took almost 7 hours for the pink to evaporate. Decided to order a clear blue digital and took it this morning and came out with a negative reading.
Anyone can help that would be great

Why were you waiting for the pink to evaporate??

Bells3032 · 16/08/2021 10:07

what do you mean it took 7 hours for it to evaporate? 7 hours til it appeared or seven hours later the pink line disappeared.

Clear blue is a bit less sensitive than the non-digital - when is your period due.

FYI i took my pregnancy on the 7th june. test is still in my drawer and the pink line is still there

Thefaceofboe · 16/08/2021 10:51

What do you mean the pink evaporated? Do you mean it took that long for a 2nd line to appear?

Mseddy · 16/08/2021 10:54

The pink lines don't evaporate. I'm due any day and my tests are still 2 lines x

FTEngineerM · 16/08/2021 10:55

I’m confused; I still have DS1s first positive pregnancy test and it’s still pink. 2 years later

mummabubs · 16/08/2021 11:14

I'm also confused - either OP is saying the line disappeared which doesn't sound right (I am the weirdo that has kept my positive tests for both DC and 4 years later the lines haven't faded at all!) or... OP is saying it took 7 hours for the line to appear, in which case that's an invalid result.

I'd be inclined to do another pink dye test tomorrow with first urine of the day and be sure to read instructions as to how to do and read the result. Unfortunately no one here is going to be able to tell you either way whether you are pregnant or not OP x

Tt109 · 16/08/2021 12:02

I meant the evaporation line as it was blurred all across the test for hours

If the line was blurred, I'd say it was a faulty test and to test again in a few days.

Bells3032 · 16/08/2021 12:11

@Tt109 i think it may be a faulty test. redo tomorrow or in a few days if not near your period

Tt109 · 16/08/2021 12:14

I don’t get periods due to the pill

why do you think you may be pregnant?

With the blurry it sounds like you may have gotten the pee too far up the stick. i did that once - i find it hard not to when putting in a stream, i find it easier to pee into a pot (use a cap from hair spray or something like that if you don't have any urine pots). you should get a more accurate result
