Covid.. what swayed your decision?

Sorry, another vaccine post! But hoping for some real opinions. I have been completely on the fence about getting the vaccine while pregnant. My first midwife advised me to wait until baby is here, but I now have a new one and she is advising I get it before the third trimester. I have done research on the risks etc and know it is risky to catch it in third trimester etc. (For reference I am 15+4)

I am now super close to wanting to get it, but for some reason something is holding me back. What I want to know, is if you were like me and also unsure to begin with, what swayed your decision to get it in the end?

That lots of pregnant women have had it and gone on to deliver safely.

Stats around covid in the third trimester.

Videos showing how the vaccine works, which reassured me about how it would/wouldn’t affect my DC.

That my risks of COVID are massively higher than the vaccine

There is a lot of research out there now which is why the experts are recommending it to pregnant women where they weren't before

Had jab 1 at 20 weeks and jab 2 at 28 weeks (now 31)

Hi OP. Is there a particular reason you have posted the same question in two sections? There are lots of previous posts about this already. Hopefully the previous discussions will help you come to a decision.

This Facebook group, full of evidence based science, and so many people all over the world who have had it without any impact to their pregnancy www.facebook.com/groups/433459851127376/?ref=share
I've now had both vaccines so I'm fully covered before my due date, and this way baby gets antibodies too.

@expectinglittlebear I was nervous about it also, and am 15 weeks too. I've booked the jab in for this weekend. Main reasons for me, lots of people I know seem to be getting coronavirus with restrictions lifting. And also the increase in still births and necrotic placentas, even in women that had relatively few symptoms. I read some of the studies coming out of Ireland at the time and now being done in various other countries looking at placenta damage and stillbirth risk and decided I should just get it

What swayed me was reading about a 29 year old mother who worked in the same NHS trust as me who caught covid in her third trimester & died. She left 3 children behind.
