How fast did you conceive after COPPER coil removal?

Hey lovely people.
I had my coil out yesterday, just coming off my period now and I ovulate in 11 days according to my period tracker. Just wondering how long it took for you to conceive after copper coil removal? In the past when I came off the pill it took me about 3 months, but since this contraception is non hormonal, could it be possible from right away? Thanks 🙂

I had the copper coil out and two weeks later I had a positive test. So it can happen very quickly!

Hi Jokerflowers, I had my copper coil removed in February and got pregnant about two months later. Now 17 weeks pregnant! When i had mine removed the nurse said that it’s possible to get pregnant straight away after it’s removed x

Copper coil removed and then did not have a period until 10 months later as fell pregnant straight away Grin

I'm on cycle number 8 ttc after copper coil 😔

Oh wow! I've seen a lot of people saying also that they got pregnant fast after having marina removed too so can still be fast but I know from my experience before that hormones take a bit longer to get out my system, so I'm excited about trying this time! I'm struggling with quitting smoking tho so not sure if that will worsen my chances (I will cold turkey quit soon as I get that positive test, I have before) just struggling with having one now and then 😬 I've started trying anyway tho so very excited 😁

Fairgame don't give up, it'll happen! Some people just take longer than others but you'll be even more over the moon when it does happen!!

It will also depend on age etc. I conceived 5 months after mine was removed- I was 30

Coil out July 19, fell pregnant in the September with DS (now 1)
I'd been quick to conceive my eldest too, think I got pregnant on the 2nd cycle

It took me about 10 months after copper coil removal. I used to find it quite heartbreaking how quickly some others conceive. I hope your time comes soon.

SameToo · 07/08/2021 19:46

Very quickly. Think within 3 weeks of trying.

First time round I took it out mid cycle and never got a period. Second time took around 8 months, but was also still breastfeeding (and was older, and heavier!). So there could have been other issues at play.

jokerflowers · 07/08/2021 20:28

I'm 26 and have 2 already, sounds like majority of you if was fast though! This gives me hope, super excited 😁

Two months. Sadly ended in miscarriage though 😢I'd had the coil for about 10 years (not the same one but two different ones).

seaduck · 07/08/2021 20:31

Yes it can happen fast, I had a positive test 3 weeks after mine being removed!
