When did anyone get the covid vaccine while pregnant, would it be safer to wait until 12 weeks pregnant, currently 6 weeks

It’s safer to have the vaccination at any point than not having it x

I had pzier this week at 14 weeks. I wanted to wait until the 2nd trimester just in case however I had zero side effects and in hindsight would have had it done earlier!

JackJack84 · 07/08/2021 09:15

I had my first Pfizer dose at 14 weeks, second at 22. Would've had it earlier but they only recommended pregnant women getting it around the time I was 14 weeks.

You’ll only be offered Pfizer or moderna. There are no recommendations to wait for a certain number of weeks. Go for it as soon as you can.

Italiandreams · 07/08/2021 09:18

I had moderna at 29 and 37 weeks but that was because that was when my age group was allowed. I think that is probably the case for a lot of pregnant women.

First at 5 weeks and second at 14 weeks, no side effects bar a mild dead arm!

Each time I went there was a doctor as part of the team who will speak to you about your circumstances and the vaccine so you have all the information you need to decide what is right for you. I had Pfizer and at every antenatal appointment since they have encouraged having the vaccine and been pleased that I already had it.

Had my pfizer jabs at 5 and 13 weeks, had nothing more than a sore arm and feel so relieved to have better protection from covid for me and my baby (who looked just fine at 12w scan and has recently started having movements I can feel :) )

BigGooseyLucy · 07/08/2021 11:25

I had my first one at 18 weeks and awaiting my second. My midwife said best to wait until the first trimester

Flutterby8 · 07/08/2021 11:33

I had my first at 15 weeks and my second at 23 weeks.
I had a sore arm after the first vaccine and felt very sleepy but that was it.
Only just had my 2nd so waiting to see if there are any side effects.
There isnt a set time to have it now, it is just recommended to be given whenever.
I only waitied until my 2nd trimester because I personally thought it was safer but there is no evidence to back up that theory.
If you want to have it, just go and get it done.

To be fair they wouldn't be vaccinated pregnant woman all over the world if there was concerns. Smile

14wks and 22wks Pfizer. I did wait because my nausea was so bad but it hadn’t gone away by 14 wks and didn’t want to wait any longer!
