38 week growth scan, very worried

I had my 38 week growth scan today and they picked up a couple of things. First they found a rather large ovarian cyst, secondly they couldn't find a pool of water to measure (as there wasn't any!) and lastly his EFW is 5lbs 6 (was 4lbs6 at 33 week scan).

I'm booked in for a specialist scan tomorrow. Anyone know what the consultant is likely to say? I am so worried 😟

I think I would be feeling reassured by the fact they didn't keep you in to do the urgent scan there and then

Yes OH is coming thank god.

They did the fetal monitoring and little man seems fine at the moment! Hes happily kicking away now too...

That's really good :) at 38 weeks I'm convinced that if they were significantly concerned then they would offer induction.

It might be worth having a read up on some induction stories or choices too to help you feel in control if that does happen. X

You can't know until they see you. But if it was really serious they would have admitted you

The midwife did say that they'll want baby out ASAP as he's not growing properly etc... I've been induced before and was booked in on the 18th anyway!

Hi, I hope all goes well today, I have had reduced fluid since about 30 wks, it's about a quarter of what it should be. I am scanned weekly and so far at nearly 36 weeks baby is fine. I think sometimes these things just happen. My friend had her baby weighing at 5lb 11oz at term and all was fine. Just thought some positive things might help 🙂
