Should I be worried? Pains 37+2

Hi,

I'm 37+2 with DS2. I've never had labour (ELCS with DS1) I'm getting these symptoms:

Back ache - all day. Felt at though I couldn't get comfortable no matter what position I'm sitting or standing in. Not unbearable but certainly noticeable. From my middle to my lower back.

Had a bath, seems to have eased.

Period pains - on going, burning/painful sensations into my pelvis and thighs. Not radiating from my back like I thought contractions would. The kind of pain that makes me think I need to do a BM but can't.

Felt sickly all day, haven't ate much.

No show or waters broken. Lots of thick white discharge which I've been getting lately.

Should I phone triage? The pain is certainly noticeable and very, very uncomfortable but as it's constant and not contractions id be mortified if it was nothing to do with labour and I've wasted their time.

There's a lot of pressure in my pelvis too.

Is this normal or could it be the start of something? I have a ELCS booked for 12 days away, so hoping to get them but I don't remember feeling like this in my first pregnancy

Any advice greatly appreciated xx

Probably best to call midwives/delivery suite and get checked over.

My last labour I thought I had poop pains and felt out of sorts and sat on the toilet for half hour trying to let one out and then didn’t feel better and timed the cramps and was very sporadic every 2-7 mins, gave birth 2 hours later.

All sounds like the beginning of Labour, I was like this the day before I started contractions. Always best to get things checked out

I managed to fall asleep, slept reasonably well and woke up with heavy period pains, especially in my left hip? Really painful. No contractions or loss though. Just constant very heavy and sore period pains. Still have the urge to go the loo but nothing happens. I will be speaking to triage this morning but doubt they'll see me as they usually expect waters, contractions or a mucus plug.

Hoping this is the start of something as the thought of being like this for days and looking after toddler DS is terrify

In my first labour I didn't lose my mucus plug until I was in very established labour, my waters didn't go until my first push! I also had a back to back labour where a lot of my pain was in my bum......I'd maybe ring triage and see what they say Smile

Just know hold to triage. Pain is more in my hips, groin, lower back and legs at the minute. Very noticeable. So much pressure but not contractions it's just constant. It sometimes goes slightly dull then ramps up but not on any regular time.

Worst timing, my DM and DSis have covid and if little man does arrive soon they won't get to meet him for quite a while! Sad

I've been told to take some paracetamol and call back if things progress into contractions

How are you doing OP?

BrilliantBetty · 01/08/2021 21:39

Sounds like my early labour at 37weeks. Hope you're ok.

Hope you’re doing ok

Sounds like my early posterior Labour at 36.3. Phone back and ask to be reviewed by a doctor.

I am 37 weeks and could have wrote this post myself, feeling the exact same. I was given paracetamol and codeine which only helped if I was laid down, as soon as I stood up again the pains came back. Day no3 now and no signs of actual labour though.
