Just that really. This is baby no 2 but i seem to have forgotten what i had 1st time around. I have kept all DD clothes but don't know what i'm having, have 5 vests and 5 babygrows (neutral) which i'm thinking will be enough for hospital but wondering whether i should be buying more?! It's more because i don't know what i'm having don't want to have an abundance of neutral as would use dd's if girl or buy boys if a boy and also unsure of size. Have all newborn stuff first time round but landed having to go and buy lots of tiny baby as dd was only 5lb 10oz

I would stick with what you've got for now. Supermarkets are open at all hours so it'll be relatively easy to buy more if you need to, and you can always put a boy in your daughter's old stuff for a few days until you get to the shops.

I have an attic full of boy clothes (I have three sons) and little to no intention of shopping. If this one is a girl then she is going to be very blue Grin

Thanks, yeah true as long i have enough for hospital it's no big deal if a boy has to be in DD clothes for a few days.

Iirc I bought 10 sleepsuits , 10 vests and a couple of hats and cardigans. I was confident to buy newborn size though as mine were all around 7lbs , also I didnt want to have to do a wash every day.

Would also say stick with what you have. Once baby is born you will know size incase they are small or much larger than dc1. Then can buy the correct sizes for season they need. What you have will see you through the first few weeks if needed.

My son only had 9 sleepsuits for the first month of his life. They grow out of the little stuff so fast! I'm due a girl in Sept, but she would definitely be going into her brother's old stuff if I hadn't been given a load of handmedowns from my niece.

A lot of what I got for my son was gender neutral anyway.

I'm 33 weeks now and had this panic a week or so ago. I've now got all newborn sizes, 8 sleepsuits and 8 vests. Thinking most people will buy us more as gifts and this allows for a few changes if outfit in the hospital of DD is a bit mucousy.

I had sicky babies who would easily go through more than 5 outfits a day.

My newborn last year was 8lb8. Only took newborn into hospital and he had to be squeezed into them. 1month fitted much better. I think newborn is 50cm, Ds was 53cm born. So would just buy minimum until you know sizes as all Ds stuff was worn 2 days and the rest unworn.
