Terrible cold at 8 weeks - worrying that it could harm the baby

Hi everyone,

I'm currently just over 8 weeks pregnant and I have a terrible cold.

I don't have fever, but I'm warm and sweat a lot. I also cough and sneeze all the time and my nose is running. Occasional shivering. I also have a sore throat.

Coronavirus test was negative, thank God.

I know this might be a stupid question, but can this cold harm the baby and cause a miscarriage? I worry all the time about this.

Certain Infections can affect baby - and having a high fever can also - but not a regular cold.

Remember you can take Paracetamol but not ibuprofen, and no decongestants like.lemsip. Get Well soon!
