Strongish pregnancy cramps 37 weeks ...

Hi all. I'm currently 37 weeks pregnant today just. I was up for my scan during the week and consultant said baby was measuring 7lbs 10 oz. Recently this last week I've been experiencing period cramps. They are coming and going but when they come they can be quite strong. I also noticed my vaginal discharge has increased a lot. I know my body is getting ready for the big day but are these cramps normal or anything to be concerned about. I'm up on Thursday getting tested for gestational diabetes . Would this have anything to do with the cramping ? Just worried x

Hi OP. If you’re worried please call your midwife or better yet your maternity assessment unit. I had cramps on and off the last few weeks of pregnancy and it was just my body getting ready for labour. I didn’t have discharge but did loose my plug at 40 weeks but labour was still a week away. If you’re concerned please seek medical advice x
