Completely forgot about keggels and perineal massage!!!

Well I’m just coming up to 37 weeks. I had planned to start both around 34 weeks but with finishing up at work, finishing touches to the nursery and redecorating the front room I completely forgot. Is it pointless starting now? I get the feeling it will be too little to late at this stage!! Also had all the best intentions to pack my hospital bag this week but the suitcase is still sitting happily in the attic. I’m so under prepared!! X

I'm 36 weeks and same position! Forgot about perineal massage too and I'm getting induced at 38 weeks! I'm thinking I may start if I remember and try to do it just before bed each night as I think better late than never! I'm also going to request a warm compress to be applied whilst pushing as I've read that can help reduce tears too

@Jurassiclover I’m so happy I’m not alone. I’m going to get some coconut oil tomorrow but I can’t reach the vajay-jay with two hands so don’t even think I’ll be able to do it!! X

No harm in starting now! I wanted to start at 34 weeks and now almost 36 and the only reason I haven’t done perineal message is how the actual flying fuck am I meant to get two thumbs up there?!?!!!!! If there was a fly on the wall when I tried they would have died with laughter at me rolling about all over my bed half naked.

I know! I just had a ‘practice’ to see if I could reach before I got in the bath. One hand is fine but the other…. Absolutely no fucking chance. My partner said he would do it but he is just thinking it will lead to sex four times a week. And I’m not prepared for that/having that at 37 weeks!!! X

@ExcitingTimes2021 hahaha! My partner is exactly the same but I don’t see any way around it and I can’t even reach with one thumb 😂 I had an episiotomy with my last so I guess the more I’m ‘stretched’ the better 😑😑😑

I’m 38+2 and so unprepared this time! My husband is digging out the Next2Me cot as we speak because I’ve had a few twinges

I've got the coconut oil but whether I'll be able to reach is another issue 😂 I'll give it a trial run tonight haha!

I was very relaxed about things in the run up to DS birth and intended to pack my bag at 37+6 so that I didn't have it hanging around in the way for weeks on end. DS however did not intend hanging around for weeks on end and arrived at 37+3 I had to get the stuff out of the loft and pack my bag whilst contracting, we made the hospital with 20 mins to spare.

Well I have tried to do the perineal massage twice now and I just can’t reach to do it properly and it hurts my bump to try stretch into a position so I can get a thumb up there! Like I’m pulling a rib muscle or squishing baby so I just give up after a few minutes! Will probably have one more go but just finding the whole thing stressful, painful and messy!! X
