Baby Heart Rate

During your midwife checks what has been baby's heart rate?

At my 25week check it was 140 and then at my 28week check it was 150. Midwife didn't seem concerned but I was wondering if it's too high?

Sounds normal, DD was always 146/147.

It's not high at all. That's normal for a foetus. A normal heart rate for a newborn is 120-160 beats a minute. Babies have smaller stroke volumes so they raise their heart rate to maintain cardiac output. You can't compare to adult heart rates

Rosieposy89 · 18/07/2021 14:28

That is completely normal. Also if baby is wriggling, the heart rate will increase which is a healthy sign

I have never been told what my baby's heartbeats are! I do see people discuss it but I never know. Sounds right though, from what I've read.

If the midwife wasn’t concerned then you shouldn’t be either, unless you’re a midwife or obstetrician and know something she doesn’t

Anything between 110-160 is normal. 140 ish is completely average.

ivfgottwins · 18/07/2021 16:09

That's normal my twins were regularly between 150 and 180 x
