Pregnancy after cervical cerclage

Hi all, I needed an emergency cervical cerclage in my last pregnancy and was put on bedrest. At the time I was told I shouldn't need to do bedrest for a future pregnancy as they would put a cerclage in routinely earlier in the pregnancy. Now I am newly pregnant again and just wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation and when they put the cerclage stitch in? Thanks

Hi @mumlife6 congrats on your pregnancy! I don't have anything helpful to add I'm afraid but very interested in replies as I also had an emergency cerclage in my pregnancy with my first child and subsequent bed rest and am starting to consider trying again but very nervous about what would happen next time... I believe preventative stitches have a far better success rate than emergency though. I was also put on progesterone pessaries last time which I believe helped but who knows!

So I had my first son at 28 weeks so with my 2nd son I had a stitch placed at 13 weeks bit of a rough ride but made it to 39+1
I was off work from having the stitch due to shielding with my 2yr old then my job was to high risk ( hospital) so just sofa suffered, did all the house work cooked clean just no heavy lifting which was not easy with a disabled 2yr old but we managed
If your on fb incompetent cervix uk pregnancy related is a great support group
