Hotel chocolat champagne truffles

So I feel like such an idiot for even writing this.
I was given some truffles from HC, but because the person didn’t like them they were all loose (no packaging) just in one of those Tupperware boxes.
I honestly didn’t realise they were champagne truffles and I know how stupid this sounds! 😔

I’ve just looked into them and they have 2.5% alcohol in them, I ate around 12 of them over the last 2 weeks.

Am I totally overreacting for being really worried about this? Sad

Yes you are.

But if you have any spare I’ll eat them for you!

QuizzicalTikTok · 17/07/2021 08:49

Totally over reacting. You will be fine.🙂

Belle82 · 17/07/2021 08:49

Probably should add, I never have any alcohol when I’m pregnant.

@HorriderHenry 😂😂
I’ll send them to you

2.5% is not the strength of the alcohol, it's the percentage content of champagne in the chocolates. You've probably had a teaspoon of champagne over 2 weeks

Cakeandslippers · 17/07/2021 08:51

Yes you are over reacting. You've probably consumed the equivalent of a thimble of wine over 2 weeks.

Belle82 · 17/07/2021 12:52

Thank you so much.
Sorry I have a tendency to overreact, thank you for confirming 😂😂

Grin Pretty sure it means your baby will be a total chocolate snob from birth, now. Forget about Colin Caterpillar cakes for birthdays - it's afternoon tea at the Ivy or nothing.

TheDaydreamBelievers · 17/07/2021 13:34

Definitely no problem. It'll be an absolutely miniscule amount of alcohol over the time! But I agree with @JesusInTheCabbageVan - no ALDIs own chocolate for this kid!

Whatshouldicallme · 17/07/2021 13:49

🤣 I am really laughing OP because I also got those same ones as a gift and didn't eat them because I was worried about the alcohol! So I think YANBU for overreacting because I did too but now I realise how little is in them I wish I'd kept them myself instead of giving them to my husband Grin

ElderMillennial · 17/07/2021 13:57

I'm sure it's fine. Personally avoided alcohol chocolates when pregnant and wouldnt take opened food from someone but I agree with PPs that the amounts of alcohol will be tiny

Have been dieting for six weeks and lost a stone and now all I can think about is devilishly delicious champagne truffles, damn you OP!! 😂

BunnytheFriendlyDragon · 18/07/2021 10:35

I recommend the Charbonnel et Walker ones if you haven't tried them

Belle82 · 20/07/2021 18:43

Thank you so much for all your responses.
I must have a trip into hotel chocolat next time I pass.
I have my GTT test soon so I’d better hurry just in case Grin

@YerWanIsGettinNotions
Please tell me what diet you’re on? Once this one is born I desperately need to go on a diet.
Also, do you have cheat days, if so, stock up on those chocolates 😂
