36 weeks and have a toddler who loves to be outside 😭

How's everyone else coping? I barely slept last night, fan was in DS room as his rooms actually even warmer than mine. Dreading today as it's going to be EVEN warmer but I feel evil keeping DS in the house all day 😩!

I'm only 25 weeks but it's a struggle!

I work in retail and wear a mask which doesn't help either 🥵

Feeling your pain!

Moominmiss · 17/07/2021 08:23

Me 🥵 it’s horrible. I usually love the heat, but I’m hating this.

As soon as I’m up and showered, I’m sweating. Anything I wear just sticks and clings to me. It’s unbearable. Feels so uncomfortable 🥵🥵

Howcanthisbe123 · 17/07/2021 08:33

We have curtains and on the window side of them is like a silver shiny material, looks shot from the outside but it keeps the room so cool! I always sleep well when they are up!

Howcanthisbe123 · 17/07/2021 08:34

Also, stay inside if you can, shut the blinds/curtains of the sun coming in and open windows on the shad side of the house then reverse it as the day goes on, keeps the house cool although dark if you have only one window in a room

Meeee! I'm only 25 weeks so really feel for you ladies nearing your due date, or anyone suffering from morning sickness in this heat Shock

MrsB2019x · 17/07/2021 09:07

Yep! 36 weeks and living on ice cubes 🥵

Merrz · 17/07/2021 09:08

Yes 🥵 Cold baths are my friend right now!

romdowa · 17/07/2021 09:14

23 weeks here and I'm praying for a nice cold snap! Sick of being roasting day and night !

Sweetpea12 · 17/07/2021 09:22

Approaching 40 weeks and glad because I couldn’t stick any form of heatwave any longer 🥵 I find just staying indoors with a fan on is the best but feel for anyone who’s out and about still working etc

Mommabear20 · 17/07/2021 09:27

38 weeks here with a 1 year old to contend with too! Luckily during the day isn't too bad for me due to our house layout, it doesn't seem to get very hot, but dying on a night as our bedroom gets the sun all day! 😭 if it wasn't such a small room, I'd be sleeping on my DDs floor! 😂

Moominmiss · 17/07/2021 09:31

Does anyone have any tips for keeping cool while out and about? Or types of clothes that have been bearable to wear?

I’m 31 weeks and have been staying inside as much as possible, but my partner is taking me away today to London for the weekend and as much as I’m looking forward to it, I’m dreading it too as I know how sweltering it’ll be 🥵

BeastOfBODMAS · 17/07/2021 09:45

@Moominmiss I have some chinos from ASOS that are really baggy and cottony in pale colours that I have lived in this week.
I’m not a shorts person due to flabby legs but these are bearable!

Just stuck a tub of body butter in the fridge for later - not sure if madness or genius, will report back! Grin

Sweetpea12 · 17/07/2021 09:52

Maxi dresses for me because they are comfy to wear and airy but means I don’t have to have my legs on show cos no one needs to see those two white sticks lol and it means footwear a lot of things go like sandals, flip flops, converse. I’m finding footwear in the heat to be important as I notice at night it’s affecting whether I have swelling or not

jacksmamx · 17/07/2021 09:57

@Moominmiss yeah deffos thin airy flowy trousers or a nice maxi dress with some fabric shorts on underneath to stop the chafe!!

I put a cool box freezer cube in a pillow case last night! Amazing!! Put it on your chest or neck and it cools you down nicely x

Chelyanne · 17/07/2021 10:23

35wk, hating the hot weather. Only getting 4ish hours worth of sleep and that's broken. 5 kids worth of uniforms to get washed today, quite nice draping the wet clothes over my shoulder to hang on the washing lines. I said I wasn't going to buy anymore clothes this pregnancy but caved and bought a couple of dresses, they are nursing ones too though so useful after birth.

L1ttleb1t · 17/07/2021 10:30

You can buy neck fans off Amazon if that helps in the day? You wear it like a necklace. They are bladeless too. Might help?
