Possible blighted ovum should be 6+5 measuring at 5

So I went for an early scan today after losing my last baby to a chromosomal condition in March !

I thought I was going to be 6+5 and she measured 5weeks ! The sac was 8mm and there was no visible sign of a yolk but she said it was so small there is no way she can tell !

My hcg levels are at 7000 so I just don’t know what to do or how to feel ! I’m guessing I’ve lost the baby but I still feel pregnant and I’m just pretty sad !

Any advice or similar stories please share ! I will keep the post updated with what happens next for me !

Plan is blood tests in 2 days at the moment

Hi, I am sorry. I don’t have any answers, except that I found myself in a similar situation yesterday, fearing the same (6+0, only gestational sac and hint of a yolk developing, measuring a week behind). Also just went through two losses earlier this year, so know the fear.

I hope your blood tests will be ok. Have they planned another scan for you? And are you sure of your dates? Will have my fingers crossed for you!

Hcg is rising but not fast enough to be viable it appears ! I’m off for another scan tomorrow as there fear is that it may be an ectopic !

@Alwaysandagain I had the same situation with my last pregnancy where they couldn't see a yolk but consistently told me it might just be the dates or simply too early. Unfortunately it ended in a miscarriage & usually at that stage [7 weeks] you're supposed to see the sac.

@Alwaysandagain also on my scan she also dated me wayyyy back compared to my dates & immediately I knew there's a possible growth issue here and I must be miscarrying at some point

I tried to get a referral from the GP for HCG testing, as my Clear Blue weeks indicator was not progressing beyond 2-3 weeks (like with my first MMC). As the GP is no longer doing blood work themselves, I have to go to the blood clinic. The first available appointment was in two weeks time from me calling, which defeats the purpose completely. I have a scan on Thursday, and just dreading it. I feel the time is just crawling. Cannot imagine having to deal with a third pregnancy loss in one year.

@davidrosejumper try to get yourself into an Early Pregnancy Unit nearby — they'll usually call you the same day or next day and do blood work as well as scans
