Looking for some advice. I suffer with IBS symptoms which are very much triggered by stress and anxiety. I am speaking at a wedding soon which is exactly the kind of situation which triggers my symptoms- basically an immediate urge to go the the toilet (loose stools). In the past I have managed this by taking immodium. I am also practicing relaxation and breathing strats, however this is long term work and I need a short term solution! Whilst my thoughts and emotions do influence the situation, I have had accidents in the past- there is a very physical component. I really don't want to have an incident at the wedding!
I'm currently 32 weeks pregnant and advice is not to take immodium. Does anyone know of any alternative? My midwife told me to speak to the GP who I have so far not been able to get hold of!
