Anyone else have major baby blues straight after ELCS?

Hi, I’m pregnant with my second and weighing up options for VBAC vs ELCS. I had ELCS first time due to baby’s position and the whole thing was fine, except that for 2 days after I couldn’t stop crying. I know baby blues are common in the first couple of days but it was really extreme and out of character as I’m someone who doesn’t normally cry easily. It was almost like my body wasn’t hormonally ‘ready’ for the birth. Has anyone else had this? It’s really the main thing putting me off another section as it made the 3 days in hospital utterly miserable!

I didn't but I only spent 1 night in hospital after my elcs, I hate being in hospital for long and it was much nicer being home.
I did get down after birth with our older 2 but that was down to breastfeeding trouble, I'd accepted that it may not work after them so I didn't stress over it as much with our others and will not for this one either.
Pain can have a big impact on my mood too so if you experienced a lot of pain after surgery that could have contributed, if you manage that well it could help.

Thanks Chelyanne, I didn’t experience a lot of pain afterwards, I really couldn’t put the crying down to anything specific as it was so out of character of me to break down like that, definitely felt like a hormonal thing
