Just that, really. Has anyone else had this? It appeared earlier this week, and it's awful! It makes me feel like I am constantly thirsty, but I actually think it is just a desire to drink something to get rid of the taste. It's driving me crazy! Looking for positive stories of other people having this and it going away eventually.

Sorry Dalgleish I have had this from the start and I’m 27 weeks now. I even went to my dentist in case it was an infection and he just said pregnancy hormones do weird things to your gums. I hate it in the night - I end up sipping water every time I wake up and then have to pee multiple times. I also cannot go anywhere without a bottle of water to keep sipping.

On the plus side, drinking plenty of water is good for you!

Yes, eating ice cubes helped. I ate about 40 a day, and even took a flask of them into the labour ward.

Frozen grapes are good too.

Thanks, guys! It really is the worst. I think I'd actually take nausea over this.

Afraid to say I had this until I delivered 😬

I constantly had a chewing gum in my mouth

I had this in my first trimester but thankfully it just went...I can't say when as I didn't notice as such but it was definitely end of first/maybe beginning of second when it went. I can't recall the specifics now but I remember a few good ideas on old threads on here for how to help it- I found I had to avoid sweet things as that seemed to magnify the weird taste. It's disgusting though, I completely sympathise.

Yep, had it until I was about 28 weeks & I now get it every now and again but I enjoy most food again thank fully (I’m 34 weeks) xx
