Braxton hicks with cesarean scar

Just wondering if others have had the same discomfort as me?

So I'm getting more and more braxton hicks now at 34wk. They're just normal tightenings when I'm sat down and not very uncomfortable but... if they come on when I'm stood up they are very uncomfortable around my cesarean scar.

Have you had a vbac before? I had an awful burning pain in scar during contractions.

what will be the age gap between your children?

I had 3.5 y between ELSC & 1st VBAC so I had no discomfort like you described

@stairway no, this is my 1st pregnancy to do well since my 1st elcs with twins (babies 4&5). May not labour as my consultants are thinking of bringing baby early if still measuring big at my next scan. I've already decided on elcs over induction, will go vbac if I go in to spontaneous labor though.

@ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba It's been 6 years. I get tender around my scar at start of af and after heavy deadlifts too.

It’s probably normal but you could let your midwife know. It might be adhesions breaking down too.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 07/07/2021 12:50

hmm, that should've healed by now but if it's always something you notice (uncomfortable or sore) then I agree with pp you must mention to midwife.

they might advise you to have another ELSC

@stairway @ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba

Thanks. I'll mention it when I see the midwife next week and to the consultant the following week. My scar did get an infection a couple of weeks after surgery so maybe not healed as well internally as it looks to have externally.
