Having a panic about my aspirin, reassurance please

Hi everyone, I’ve been taking 150mg aspirin every day since ovulation and now 35 weeks, taking it due to previous losses although I was never tested for clotting disorders but it seems to be working as I’ve made it this far!

I have my aspirin in the evening with my other vitamins, and recently I noticed that sometimes the tablet doesn’t dissolve very well in the water (I’ve been using dispersible ones recently). I just persevered as I thought for some reason it might be reacting with my myo inositol which I also dissolve into my water.

Anyway tonight I thought - why is this happening?! And looking at the packet - turns out I’ve actually been taking paracetamol and not aspirin! I’m not sure how long for, maybe a week.

It really upset me because I’m worried my blood will have thickened again and baby won’t be getting the nutrients he needs. I know paracetamol is allowed so it could’ve been worse but honestly I just feel so stupid.

It’s because the blister packs are exactly the same (both from boots) and I took them out of the outer packaging to make it quicker when I’m doing them in the evening. I’m not sure how the paracetamol got into there as I only keep my pregnancy tablets in this tim 😔

He still seems to be kicking and everything, please tell me it’s going to be ok ☹️😢

@Cafeaulait27 I'm sure everything will be ok. If you are worried, phone your midwife tomorrow. I was on 150mg aspirin in my pregnancy but was told to stop at 36 weeks as my previous pregnancy my son arrived at 37 weeks and they didn't want me to be on blood thinners at time of delivery. You may find they are happy with you stopping taking it fairly soon anyway. Pregnancy is such a time of worry, please be kind to yourself

I'm sure someone with actual medical knowledge will be along soon, but try not to panic. You've basically been taking a small dose of paracetamol, which won't have done any harm, and you have noticed it so can switch back to your aspirin tonight.

I don't know at what point they might have stopped your aspirin, will you be taking until 36 weeks or longer?

Please don't worry unduly, if all feels well that is good and you could be checked over if anything seems different.

I'm sure you will be fine / I had to stop taking aspirin after 32 weeks anyway in case of c section etc and they needed blood to be thicker
I had losses due to placental enfarcts and like you I was nervous to come off it, but all was fine!

Hope that gives you a bit of reassurance x

You’ll be ok. I was put on aspirin from 12 weeks and at 34 weeks I was told to stop.

Thank you so much guys 😭 literally when I realised I was crying my eyes out and shouting for my husband who was upstairs, I was so scared I’ve ruined it all after getting this far.

Typical baby is being really quiet now, I’ll feel much better once I feel some kicks. Just sitting on the sofa drinking cold water and trying to relax.

Thank you so much for the reassurance.

I literally can’t believe I did this. I do have pretty bad pregnancy brain from the hormones and feeling so tired xx
