Baby milestone stress!

Hi! Just having a panic. My LO is 6 months and 2 weeks and can't sit up. He can sit if I really hold him but as soon as I let go he collapses forwards or falls to the side. I keep googling (big mistake!) and I've heard babies shout be sitting at 6 months?! I don't even think he's anywhere close! When did your babies sit? Thank you

Don't panic, mine didn't start trying by himself til 7 months, suddenly cracked it a few weeks later.
Milestones are a guideline really, unless you have other reasons to be concerned, try not to panic about it! Easier said than done, I know as I'm currently worrying about my little boy's speech or lack there of!

The problem is that babies haven't read the textbooks. They will do things in their own time (and will often take you by surprise). Development milestones are an average, not a race marker. Try not to stress about it.

If you are concerned talk it through with your health visitor for some professional reassurance.

9 months
She's absolutely fine.
At 5 you would never know she was later with all her baby milestones

11 dc here... Hardly any similarities in their development!!
1 dd had no teeth at a year old, another had 10!!
One walked at 9 months, another at 15 months .
Dgs came along and walked at 7 months!! Mind blowing how they are so different.. Ime bin the book!! And enjoy your dc.

He will sit in his own time. You may wish to re read though. It likely says "may" sit at 6 months. Have to agree with pp. I have 2 dc... So different!
