41+2 today and started having contractions around midnight. After about 2 hours of them coming every 8-12 minutes and lasting a minute (approx) I decided to stop timing them and try and doze as much as I could, thinking I'll need to save up my energy.

Managed some on and off sleep until around 7am when DP woke up for work. Now it's all stopped! Googling tells me this is normal but mostly seems to be with ladies earlier in pregnancy and lasting a few days or even weeks!!. Also lost a small amount of mucus ug this morning. Do you think baby will be arriving soon or do I have a few more nights of this? Also doubting myself now as when to ring DP back from work incase things start and stop again. Uuggghhh come on baby!

Mine didn't stop just dulled down a bit then cranked right back up.

What I would advise you though is get as much sleep whilst you can now and have a nice relaxing bath.

Not medically qualified at all, but I’d say a decent chance it cranks back up again tonight. So as much napping as you can possibly manage today, please. In fact take a massive nap every day for the rest of your pregnancy (however long that is). That’s my number one tip for all ladies at or near term. Almost everybody I know laboured overnight and you can’t have a nap afterward because there’s a baby there. So massive nap. Every day.

Oh I do hope so! Thanks for the advice, we are due a big rain storm later so perfect excuse for a feel good film and a nap I think.
